CBS News says that correspondent Lara Logan was attacked and sexually assaulted last Friday in Cairo’s Tahrir Square while filming a piece for “60 Minutes.”
From the CBS News statement:
On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS Correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into a frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

That is horrible. Hope she is recovering from the physical wounds—the emotional wounds will take a lifetime to heal.
I knew there were a large number of thugs/animals among that crowd. They sure didn’t look like your average middle-class Egyptians to me.

Byline: ROSA PRINCE Lara, 30, who acknowledged that a sex attack was "always a possibility" while working among Afghanistan's brutal tribal factions, was saved by her loyal interpreter. She had interviewed the gun- carrying Alliance fighters and faced having to stay in the area overnight because it would be unsafe to travel after dark. The pair tried to bribe translator Mohammed Mohammadullah into delaying her departure and told him they planned to "have their way" with her.
Mohammadullah refused the offer and rushed Lara to safety. "He was a man who I trusted - literally - with my life," said Lara yesterday. "I will always be grateful. But I believe you have to take calculated risks. It was always a possibility that I would be raped in Afghanistan but you have to weigh up the probability of it. I was never foolhardy but I thought it all through and decided how I would cope if it did happen.
"I didn't take foolish risks and I am an experienced journalist who knows how to avoid dangerous situations."

Given that she was attacked by muslims, it can be assumed that she was SODOMIZED as well. It is their modus operandi to send a message to the infidel.
I wish her well. It will be interesting to see if she’s learned anything from it.
Western women have a worldview steeped in a civilized Christian attitude. This is the primary failure of the multi-culturalist view: Ours Is Superior. Period, end of story.

Frankly, under the circumstances I lack sympathy.
Blonde hair, Western clothing — I hope people learn (again) from this about Islam. All religions are NOT all alike. Christianity elevates and cherishes women, family unit protects children, and it is unique in that.
She was sent there by her employer. CBS is completely to blame for not protecting their staff, not her.
The real question is whether things like this will wake the MSM up to the realities of the Muslim world. Many Muslims are savages who have barbaric ideas about how to treat women. None of them thought twice about raping Lara Logan because raping a woman just isn’t an issue for them. My bet is the MSM will just ignore it and when the turmoil is over, pretend things like this didn’t happen and go back to talking about how we have to respond to the criticisms from the Muslim world.

You make a terrific point. There is a calculated risk taking by advancement hungry individuals that when coupled with the media employer passion for video “theater” and blood and guts to show on the 5:00 news feed virtualy guarantees this sort of incident occurs.
They are both selling the event is the bottom line.
