SWANZEY, N.H. -- A 7-year-old Siberian husky was shot in the leg Thursday night while his owner was working inside his garage.

"I heard a loud bang and then I heard Dozer whining. I said to my son, 'Somebody's shooting at Dozer,'" said Philip Sherrick, Sr.

Sherrick went outside and saw the armed man standing in his driveway who said, "It's just pellets," and walked away, Sherrick said.

Sherrick called police and drove Dozer to the vet hospital, where he had emergency surgery to amputate his right rear leg at the hip.

Police recovered the shell casings from the rifle and are now trying to determine to whom the gun belongs.

Sherrick said he believes he knows who shot his dog, but he doesn't know why.

Dozer is well-known among the neighbors on Marcy Hill Road who said sometimes Dozer wanders when he gets off his tie out. The staff at the Citgo station in town were horrified when they heard that Dozer was shot and sent him a get well card.

So where would a person get a de-fanged rattlesnake. I know lots of places to get the fanged ones.

Starbucks, generally. If you prefer the fanged ones, any bar will do.

A few years ago, some idiot shot my beagle with a pellet rifle while she was in my fenced-in back yard. Fortunately, the pellet was stopped in her chest muscle and didn't penetrate into the organs.

The vet took x-rays and gave them to the police, but they never even bothered to speak with me about it.

I think I know who pulled the trigger, but cannot prove it. I did, however, speak with his father and used generalities to express my displeasure and mentioned some possible means of retribution (his dad's a doctor, so I threatened at his wallet and his reputation). I didn't see the little twerp outside for a month afterward, and I never saw him with his pellet rifle, so I'm thinking he's the guilty party.

“Were there any cops within the vicinty?”

I see you’ve identified the most likely suspects.

The guy evidently was armed while trespassing which should make it armed trespass. Generally a felony.

Let me explain something to you and try to make it VERY clear.

*An armed individual who has a documented liberal philosophy trespasses on another liberal's property and shoots the dog: Misdemeanor.

*An armed individual who has a documented liberal philosophy and trespasses on a conservative's property and shoots the dog: No billed.

*An armed individual who has a documented liberal philosophy trespasses on a conservative's property and shoots the dog and the homeowner: Misdemeanor.

*An armed individual who has a documented conservative philosophy trespasses on a liberal's property and shoots the dog: Life in prison.

*An armed individual who has a documented conservative philosophy and is on his own property and is fired upon by a liberal who also shoots the conservative's dog and wounds his wife: 20 years in prison, no parole.

If you need more in-depth details on law regarding armed individuals, let me know.

“”When a would-be presidential candidate says, ‘Let’s put aside the social issues,’ what does it mean? The left right now is in federal court demanding that judges impose an agenda on the nation that was voted down at the ballot box. What do we do in response to that? Ignore it?””

The dog’s owner could press charges.

Actually, in a lot of states, the guy who shot the dog could easily have gotten himself legally shot.

And in Texas, you could shoot the SOB when he was walking or running away. Perfectly legal. And completely justified. And totally deserved.

>> Those snakes get kinda pissy about the whole arrangement ya know. <<

Well, see, that’s the thing... they;re kinda pissy whether you have the pliers or not.

(Again... NOT endorsing that tactic.)

I don't know how to break this to you, but it wasn't just your grammar and spelling that had people guessing you were drunk.

But congratulations on learning how to turn on a droid. You must be proud you've learned how to turn something on.(Nah, that's just snarky.) FWIW, I can program the apps that RUN on the droid.

My father was a Mounted policeman in Detroit. He was patrolling Belle Isle. (for those not familiar with Detroit its a island in the middle of the Detroit River and the whole island is a city park) and came out of the woods on his horse into a field. The girl on a rented horse yelled at him that she rented the horse from a stable on the island and it wouldn't get out of the field. It was eating. She had tried for 15 minutes to get it go move...

Dad got off his horse and lifted the girl off her stable horse and put her on his mount...He got on the horse and gave it a good kick and it started bucking for about 1 1/2 minutes and decided he wasn't going to buck off the horseman on his back. Dad got the reins of his horse and rode the girls horse back to the stable...

Horses are smart and know if they have someone on their back that doesn't know what they are doing...

The young gal was thrilled and had a story to tell the rest of her life....

It was a “Rifle”. In another article, from another news company, “His leg was hanging on by skin”.
