Katie Couric may end up doing something seen as unlikely just a few years ago: stay on as anchor of "CBS Evening News."
Both CBS Corp. and Ms. Couric appear open to a new deal that would keep her at the network's news division...CBS has indicated that it would like...to pare the cost of her annual base salary of roughly $15 million...

No wonder Albert Pujols is holding out!
Double her pay, SeeBS!
That’s impossible. There’s no such thing as a rich liberal.
Everyone knows only white, elitist Republican males can be rich. This must be a typo...
Gee, I wish I could get one of those high paying jobs where the only requirement is YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO READ!
And that’s for reading something written by somebody else. $15 million for being “perky” . . .
If only she had a brain and some common sense, she could make a lot less and be, maybe, the mayor of an Alaskan city, or perhaps the governor of Alaska . . . oh, wait, that’s already been done.
Lady Gaga makes multi-millions by letting her brain dead fans ogle her scrawny body, so of course, Perky Katie will demand that she be paid millions for reading the news to her brain dead audience, as well.
No wonder the Egyptians went nuts when she hit the streets!
We see unemployed middle class people all around us.. and athletes and news reader and commentators make salaries that are far more than any entertainer is worth.. it is disgusting
Kind of sickening to think she will make more in one year than I will make in a lifetime as an engineer. I create business value, she reads the news.
It’s a crazy old rock we’re riding on.
They are paying her what she thinks she is worth, if they were paying her according to real worth, a Las Vegas Hooker would make more than Katie.
Apparently “rich” is only a bad thing when you do something useful to society.
The useless lives of leftist vermin revolve entirely around their hatred for humanity.
“We see unemployed middle class people all around us.. and athletes and news reader and commentators make salaries that are far more than any entertainer is worth.. it is disgusting”
While the free market is the best system available, sadly, it’s imperfect. The biggest problem is our societal misplaced priorities. Once someone becomes a celebrity, they can continue to make money and gain notoriety because we as a people, have placed a value on celebrity.
I guess it’s not too much different from the CEO who destroys a company, and then moves on to another CEO position, because they have the experience of being a CEO.
15,000,000??
Big deal.
Charlie Sheen makes more than that in 2 months.
She’s a piker.
Shouldn’t she give it all to the poor?
I agree but America has become a nation where "entertainment" is valued over almost anything of actual worth. When we turn off the TV, stop buying over priced tickets for sports events maybe things will return to a sensible balance.. but as long as we pay any price to escape reality people like Katie will continue to be overpaid
Yep, who needs a double undergrad and two masters when you can make money like that reading the news to elderly people. Or, with a high school diploma you can become a civil servant and make $500,000 a year with full gold plated medical, dental, company car, gas, auto/life insurance, daycare, and a lifetime pension.
I really do think that future generations will look back on us and wonder what the hell we were doing? This may be written as the most corrupt era in American history. You are either IN or OUT, and your qualification, abilities, and accomplishments are not taken into account.
If you don't believe me, try to get a gubbermint or a union job without knowing someone on the inside. Good luck with that.
Shouldnt she give it all to the poor?
I’d rather she fund/subsidize a Muslim Cosby Show so the rest of us would “get it” like she does
Of course it would be a ratings flop, but with the $$$ she makes, no problem.
Liberals hyperventilate over her... as if she actually knows WTF end is up!!
