A prominent conservative activist group has given Ron Paul the boot.
The Young Americans for Freedom has voted the Texas congressman off its national advisory board in the aftermath of his straw poll win at CPAC over his positions on national security issues. Continue Reading
"It's a sad day in American history when a one-time conservative/libertarian stalwart has fallen more out of touch with America's needs for national security then our current socialist presidential regime," said the group's national director Jordan Marks.
The dispute between Paul and the the group seems to stem from Paul's anti-war activities and the prominence of his supporters at conservative events like CPAC.
"Rep. Paul is clearly off his meds and must be purged from public office. YAF is starting the process by removing him from our national advisory board. Good riddance and he won't be missed," added Marks.
"I hadn't heard of YAF doing anything in years, I thought they were defunct. Young Americans for Liberty is the group of the future," said Ron Paul's political director (and in-law) Jesse Benton in an email to POLITICO.
I disagree. While service in the military is the highest form of patriotism, not serving doesn’t make anyone less patriotic.
(By the way, there is no draft, so therefore, comparing Ron Paul’s supporters to draft dodgers is a real stretch.)
If you're against it, I'm for it..
LOL!
Bingo. I like Ron Paul in that crazy uncle kind of way, but I can’t say the same for a lot of his supporters.
The Muslims in Hitlers day mostly sided with Hitler.
Socialism/Communism and Islamic radicalism have much in common.
I highly doubt Paul is opposed to American defending herself when necessary.
I don't know that for sure.
I’ll give you that. I sometimes scratch my head on some of his stances.
First, you give a lecture on rudeness and anti-social opinions and then you pontificate, without a shred of evidence that that Ron Paul supporters (wihtout qualifiers) "do not respect our right to disagree with them!" If you want to have a respectful conversation count me in. One pointer, however. Try to apply this standard to yourself. You might make more headway.
Honestly, I just don’t know what to make of Ron Paul. However, I’d trust Ron Paul to run the country a heck of a lot faster than I would John McPain, Lindsey Grahamnesty, Olympia Snowejob, and the rest of the RINO herd.
So lets recap, Ron Paul and or liberals are liberal college kids, Nazis, leftist, Anti-Jewish Hitler supporters, and on another thread last night, I was told their right wing zealots.
Got it!
Well, you know the retarded left are in cahoots with all the other retards, the national-socialists, the jihadists, the paulestinians, and generally all the stinking dregs of society.
Thus, you have your stormfronters managing Ron Paul’s blimp project and Cindy Sheehan boinking Lew Rockwell.
Repellent, but not real complicated.
Shh...the Republican Party is becoming the War Party, the more wars, the better.
More to the point:
WHEN HAS RON PAUL EVER ASKED HIS FOLLOWERS TO BEHAVE LIKE GROWN UPS?
The “extreme right” doesn’t exist. The Right has nothing to do with anarchy, they want the federal government within its boundries as set forth by the Constitution. That’s not an extremist view.
It’s possible. I don’t really think Ron Paul or his supporters are really that much of an issue.
Again, if you are going to lecture others on civility, you should at least hold people you agree with to the same standard.
Do I have to turn in my decoder ring now ? :)
I think the most important thing we should do as Republicans/Libertarians/Tea Partiers is stay united. If we don’t, America will will slide into socialism.
Defeating Barack Hussein Obama should be our main and only goal until 2012. We can squabble with the Paulistas later. Our country is in massive trouble. If Obama is reelected, all bets are off and America is finished.
lol...
