A prominent conservative activist group has given Ron Paul the boot.
The Young Americans for Freedom has voted the Texas congressman off its national advisory board in the aftermath of his straw poll win at CPAC over his positions on national security issues. Continue Reading
"It's a sad day in American history when a one-time conservative/libertarian stalwart has fallen more out of touch with America's needs for national security then our current socialist presidential regime," said the group's national director Jordan Marks.
The dispute between Paul and the the group seems to stem from Paul's anti-war activities and the prominence of his supporters at conservative events like CPAC.
"Rep. Paul is clearly off his meds and must be purged from public office. YAF is starting the process by removing him from our national advisory board. Good riddance and he won't be missed," added Marks.
"I hadn't heard of YAF doing anything in years, I thought they were defunct. Young Americans for Liberty is the group of the future," said Ron Paul's political director (and in-law) Jesse Benton in an email to POLITICO.
While so much for the Young Americans for Freedom.
As well they should.
Ron Paul is no conservative.
Don’t much care where they kick Ron Paul
They're a strange lot, aren't they? Thge attack like a pack of hyenas at the slightest criticism of Paul, screeching "Neocon! Neocon!" when I'll wager about 95% of the Paulinistas don't even know what a neocon is.
...but they remind me of code pink or other Leftie organizations...
That may not be by accident. The Code Pinkos tend to like Ron Paul. There generally are some of Paul's cult in attendance at any significant Code Pink or A.N.S.W.E.R. rally. Paul did, after all, endorse people like Adam Kokesh, Bob Barr, Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney.
Most of Ron Paul’s supporters are on Stormfront, with a well organized wing of radical islamists on the side.
But of course you know this.
Yes, and including claiming Ron Paul is a "conservative" or a "Patriot."
Plain and simple, he's a nutcase cult leader leading a bunch of other nutcases around by the nose.
If the Paultards have their way, we'll see four more years of Obama.
This guy (ron paul) has always been on the outside edge of sanity.....i consider myself a small “L” libertarian / conservative / strict constitutionalist...but, this guy gives us all a bad name....I hate to say it, but he should just go away, like gingrich should...and romney.....and mcpain....and many others to numerous to list here
Most of Ron Paul’s supporters are college-aged men who want to feel justified in their refusal to serve their country. Like the draft dodgers of the 60s, they can mask their cowardice with claims of noble philosophical disagreement. But you know they’re liberals because only a liberal would call out Dick Cheney as a “war criminal.” That’s a give-away that they’re really just liberals who’ve infiltrated CPAC.
Hmmm, just yesterday I was told his supporters are college liberals and leftist..
Now I'm told their extreme right wing nazis?
Which is it?
Makes sense.
Ron Paul is as Conservative as they get on social issues. He does happen to be right on foreign policy, but he is too many years too late. The moment the US joined the UN, it became entangled in the mother of all foreign entanglements.
They’re young. That’s not an excuse, but it’s a fact. Remember, they are the future of the Conservative Movement.
I don't know. He seems pretty squirrely on the homosexual marriage front. He voted against DOMA. I don't think he has any principled opposition to homosexual marriage.
LOL. OK.
Like libs, they can dish criticism, but they can’t handle it..
There is no such thing as a “right wing Nazi”. Nazi, as we all know, is short for National SOCIALIST German Workers Party.
Ron Paul’s arguments against the war aren’t those of Code Pinko’s. Paul argues against the war on two fronts: 1) There was no declaration of war 2) We can’t afford the war anymore.
It is both- anarchists reside on both the left and the right. Just look at a WTO protest for example. You have a weird confluence of Bolshevism styled anarchists who are that way to simply over-throw the current system and extreme right who want no forms of government at all.
