Conservative commentator Ann Coulter brought today's audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington to its feet in applause after urging the Republican party to include gays - perhaps getting the last word on the place gays have in the conservative movement after a tussle that pitted social conservatives against libertarians at this year's conference.
"The left is trying to co-opt gays," she said. "They should be on our side."
The fight over the Republican party's acceptance of gay conservatives and gay rights came to a head at CPAC, after organizers invited the gay conservative group GOProud to be an official participant. Some social conservative groups protested the convention as a result, but gay conservatives and their allies this week declared victory, observing that they were well-received at the event.

And I got attacked here when months ago I said Ann had gone over to the homo side. It’s cause that’s what all her hollyweird buddies are. Same with Sarah who really wants to be a celebrity rather than a conservative leader.

If you figure that homosexuals are 2% of the population and only half of them are republicans, why would anyone go out of their way to kiss the butts of 1% of America’s queers.
That 2% figure is a boatload of crap, No 2% could gerner the recognition this supposed 2% does.
I don't know where you're getting your info, but here in Idaho, we conservatives don't want anything to do with homos. Witness the overwhelming calls from Idahoans for Larry Craig to resign after the Minneapolis airport embarrassment. Of course, he'd have been in trouble on election day anyway, because of his support for illegal scumbag aliens, Ag-JOBS, the "Dream" Act, etc.
Secondly, to be a conservative is to be socially, fiscally and in every other way a conservative. If you're not socially conservative, you're a libertarian, which is another animal altogether.

The left (and Libertarians, and now RINSs) has adopted the queer agenda even though actual homosexuals are a tiny percent of the population.
Why?
One, if same sex sodomy is fine, everyone elses’ sexual weirdness or sins look fine in comparison, so all the leftists feel fine about whatever it is they do.
Second, forcing everyone to bow to the homosexual agenda is a great way to force HUGE government on everyone and take away our freedoms.
Third, a HUGE percentage of the MSM are queers, so naturally they push it, and feebleminded leftists and RINOs want to be “liked” by the media.
It’s really a strange time in history when a tiny percentage of mentally ill sexual deviants are calling the shots. Anyone who succumbs to this is morally blind and will suffer the reactions to their blindness and cowardice.

Never could understand the notion of one’s feeling of “pride” solely due to the deviant manner by which one has sex.
This “pride” is worth parades, confrontations, demands, more demands, exaggerated sense of victimhood, feelings of artistic & intellectual superiority, AIDS ribbons, rainbow sashes in church, etc.
Used to admire Ann when she took on the liberal world. Don’t know what’s happened. Sad.

They do this because their agenda must be forced on a populace unwilling to accept it. The authoritarian tactics of the Left are a natural fit - unlike their preferred coital targets.

What is the point in recognizing a group based solely on their sexual preferences and lifestyle choices? Polygamists are consenting adults too. Do we now need to give them equal representation at CPAC? To what end?
What people do in their bedrooms is between them and God. I don’t need to know about it. I don’t want to know about it. It’s none of my dang business.
Sexual preference should have nothing to do with political philosophy.
