The Galen Institute, a conservative think-tank that focuses on health care policy, held a Friday roundtable with Gov. Mitch Daniels, R-Ind., to discuss ObamaCare.
Daniels, a former White House budget chief and possible 2012 presidential contender, called ObamaCare a Fixers Fiesta, referring to all of the waivers the Dept. of Health and Human Services has given to companies and unions so that their health care policies dont violate the new regulations. Get ready for years of this, Daniels said. Its going to be so unworkable in so many ways ... anybody who writes about lobbying is going to have a field day.

It’s called “crony capitalism.” Welcome to the Third World.
Yes, yes, yes.
Consumer-driven healthcare IS the answer.
It’s not a “fixers fiesta.” Repeal is the only answer and Daniels is not the person to do that-he’s a RINO.
“Daniels is not the person to do that-hes a RINO.”
As a long-time Hoosier I have to disagree with your assessment. Mitch is not strong on social issues but has been fiscally conservative. One of my biggest disappointments with him is his unwillingness to do something about illegal immigrants invading our state, especially in Indianapolis. The Hispanic population has exploded in Indianapolis and many are here illegally. Marion County is obamanation.
You say he’s not strong on social issues, and he’s unwilling to do anything about illegal immigration-enough said. What else is he willing to negotiate away to the ‘rats? He said sometime ago that the GOP ought to punt on the social issues(not a quote). Punt on issues like abortion, the biggest murder scheme since the death camps and Joe Stalin’s murder of an estimated 30 million? Estimates of abortion deaths since Roe v Wade approach 50 million innocent souls.
And, he is the political offspring of Dick Lugar, another Hoosier who ought to be defeated in the next primary.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Lugar wants to ingratiate himself to the dems. Daniels has shown that he doesn’t care what the dems or the press says about him. He doesn’t even care what republicans say about him.
Daniels does what he thinks is best for the state, instead of following polls. That’s called leadership. He’s pragmatic about accomplishing a step at a time, and he’s been very good about accomoplishing those steps in Indiana. Indiana would be a fiscal disaster without his leadership. Daniels has actually shown himself to give a crap about small towns that are suffering because of closed factories. He’s been active about bringing businesses to Indiana and many people here owe their jobs to his recruitment of new factories.
The illegals are a legacy of Indiana’s longstanding previous dem governors. They were at the helm when the Mexican Consulate came to Indiana. That’s the reason for the increase in Mexicans. The state legislature has been trying to deal with it ever since by changing the laws to get ID and now by trying to pass a law like AZ’s.
And hey, at least he’s a Natural Born Citizen. That’s better than the last guy.
It’s apparent that Daniels has his fair share of supporters on this forum——and, some who think differently, so, what else is new?
