If people want to spend their money on a Forrest tag then more power to them.

I admittedly don’t know much about the guy, but I’ve sat through enough “The Union could do no wrong and the Confederacy could do no right” crap to know that as soon as the KKK talk starts, there’s probably more than I’m being told.

my great Uncle Issac rode with him , 5th Miss cav. and later 18th MS cav , from late 63 until the end . From what I hear he was real good to his boys . They all loved him . After the war many freedmen blacks felt he was a good man too . A lot of the other stuff is all twisted history by the side that won and all those with anti-southern white agendas ever since .

Was he the Confederate general that was a driving force in the founding of the Ku Klux Klan?

He was instrumental in the founding of the Klan but it is not the Klan of today. When the Klan changed direction, he disassociated himself from it. Nathan Bedford Forrest is a Confederate hero.

It would make them easy targets for Blacks and Republicans wishing to get revenge for actions against their ancestors.

Agree. If people would bother to read their history; they would know that this man got out of the KKK when they started doing their thing with the white sheets.

Heck of a story. Man had money but no experience. Put enough in to support his own regiment, so the South made him an officer. Despite having no training, rises all the way up Lieutenant General and lead his own Calvary brigade through the whole war. Arguably the best Calvaryman on either side.
When they started they were a ragtag bunch, but his first raid was so successful that he never lacked for arms the rest of the war. In supply on Union stores.
