I hope it does well!!! But already, I’m looking forward to the DVD Extended version.... When I do the Audible version, Dagny is always played by a young Barbara Stanwick in my head, I don’t know why.

I’m re-reading the book again. In my mind, I always see/hear Morgan Freeman as Hugh Akston

For the life of me, even though I have a clear picture of Dagny in my head, I can’t think of any actress that would live up to her.

Oh, except for that chick Milla Jovovich from the Resident Evil series.

I’ve always envisioned only one actress as Dagny: “Network” era Faye Dunaway. Young enough, old enough, steely enough, and attractive enough. Plus a good actress. I honestly can’t think of anyone else who fits my picture of her.

Hank

You're right. Dagny is coldly sober, seldom smiling. Thankfully.

Probably subliminal; maybe because of her involvement with another Ayn Rand's work / movie Fountainhead (1949)? Interesting background at link on Stanwyck's "role" in making it into a movie, though ultimately the role of Dominique went to Patricia Neal.

Try Angie Harmon?
