Man [Illegal MS-13 member] gets 60 years in prison in Chandra Levy slaying

WASHINGTON – The man convicted of killing Washington intern Chandra Levy nearly a decade ago was sentenced Friday to 60 years in prison.

In November, a jury convicted Ingmar Guandique of first-degree murder in Levy's 2001 disappearance and death, despite a lack of witnesses and no DNA evidence linking him to the crime.

Levy's mother, Susan Levy, asked Guandique directly if he had been responsible for her daughter's death. He shook his head.

"Mr. Guandique, you are lower than a cockroach," Susan Levy told Guandique, before closing her statement with: "F... you."

Guandique, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, told the judge in Spanish that he was sorry for what happened. But, he added, "I had nothing to do with it. I am innocent." ....

The District of Columbia Superior Court judge also rejected Guandique's request for a new trial. His lawyers had argued Guandique should be granted a new trial because jurors improperly shared notes in reaching a verdict. They also argued prosecutors improperly appealed to the jury's emotions and facts that weren't part of trial evidence in making a graphic closing argument.

In response, prosecutors said the sharing of juror notes, if it happened, was at most a technical violation that did not substantially affect the trial's outcome.

Prosecutors had asked for a life prison sentence, arguing that Guandique showed no remorse and had a history of violence toward women. They said Guandique, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, fled his village in that country as a teenager because he was suspected of attacking a woman at knifepoint.

Funny how the story omits what else I've googled about this upstanding young man:

"...numerous letters Guandique wrote, he talked about spending time in the park and said he had killed a young woman. Later, in a telephone conversation the witness recorded, Guandique said he was talking about 'the girl who's dead'...In another conversation, Guandique boasted that he was a member of the Salvadoran gang MS-13 and said that he was known as "Chuckie" because he had a reputation for "killing and chopping up people," another witness told police."

Give me your diseased, your gangsters, Your huddled MS-13 members yearning to murder free, The wretched fugitives of your teeming Borders...

I dont believe he did it

He was just bragging to increase his standing in M-13

Gary Condit had something to do with it

I hope whatever car wash he is working at knows it too.

And MS-13 is allowed to exist in our country because?????? Many years ago, our country got rid of the Purple Gang and White Fence (although White Fence exists, again, today, we won’t get rid of them).

This is why the Muslim Brotherhood has cells in just about every state. We won’t stand up to them and run them out? Things have to change back to our old values and soon.

The neck tats didn’t tip anyone off?

I wonder if the public defender originally had him in a suit, tie and dress shirt...with a HIGH collar!

This guy sounds like a scumbag of the first rank who deserves to be shot regardless. Nevertheless, a conviction on the basis of stuff he allegedly told others, no DNA evidence and no witnesses? Whisky Tango Foxtrot? I have a feeling that the real perpatrator might have escaped justice...

He committed a crime of opportunity.

She looked online to find the park. She was planning on meeting someone there. Most likely Condit. She didn’t appear, Condit went back to his office or home and the rest is history.

Can’t imagine anyone looking on line for a place to jog and then taking a taxi.

None of the story made sense from day one.

This sounds like a nobody trying to enhance his resume.

If he had a long rap sheet in the U. S., why wasn’t he deported at any step along the way.

This one guy damns our homeland security more soundly than just about any other person out there.

What a waste of money. The taxpayers have to keep this piece of human devris alive with food, housing, tv, recreation etc for the next 60 years. Wise up America, execution if the only deterrent.

How about we deliver him back to his home country from 40,000 feet?

Condit has already been convicted. It’s sad that people who believe in law and order convict people without a trial because they’re scum bags.

Now I know why the media sat on this. They don’t want us to know that liberal border policies (started by Bush) allowed thousands of ms13 maggots in this country.
