Jake Tapper: No one in Obama admin thinks U.S. better off after Mubarak overthrow
Friday, February 11, 2011 | Kristinn

Posted on 02/11/2011 9:47:44 AM PST by kristinn

ABC News White House correspondent Jake Tapper wrote on Twitter about 40 minutes ago that the Obama administration is basically clueless as to the ramifications to the United States of the overthrow of the Egyptian government of Hosni Mubarak.

"Also worth keeping in mind: cant find anyone in O admin who thinks whatever comes next will be better for U.S. interests than Mubarak was"

This comes after Obama campaigned for Mubarak's overthrow.

Anyone else think we have a reason for movement here?

If the MB gains ground and takes hold of Egypt AND we find out the USGOV is still sending $$ to Egypt, anyone else interested in our own little gathering? Maybe we’ll be the inspiration Obama sees next...

“...CHAOS.”

The communists/socialists/progressives in the West have no follow-up plans for after the CHAOS subsides, or so it seems.

I’ve asked several what they will eventually do afterwards, and the question draws either a blank stare or rambling mumbles about “Utopia”.

The real goal seems to be destruction, mayhem, and the resulting CHAOS itself — period. The goal is the destruction of Western Civilization and the concept of competition in an open market (any market!).

I suspect the communists do have a follow-up plan, but it is so horrendous, so repulsive to the majority of people, that they never mention it and only discuss it among themselves.

It’s not even about Egypt. The same military coup in government are STILL in power.

But this gives the world the impression you can overthrow big countries in 18 days.

The rest of the middle east will go into similar chaos, with no visible end game in site...and who steps in during chaos, but the “humanitarians” (the left) and the domestic charities (the muslim brotherhood, and their endless front groups).

For all the corruption aimed at the people(s), the people are openly embracing Sharia law. I learned from an Egyptian, who said the demonstrators want a structured law system. Apparently they do not WANT democracy, as they do NOT understand it.

Do you know what “ostensibly” means?

Yes. a synonym for "apparently". Look it up.

Obama may have just plunged the world economy into chaos and opened the door for a world war. This is what happens when you Agitate for Allah.

AMEN! And I have been. Yesterday--after listenening to all the reaction to Mubarak's non-resignation speech, I was REALLY worried that there could be a real explosion of violence in Egypt that would result in the army having to put down a revolt, and lose whatever respect they have among the population.

So I hoped--and prayed--that someone pretty powerful in the army would have a "little talk" with Mubarak, and allow him to leave with dignity--before he was thrown out on his ass--and perhaps without his head!

Appears that "little talk" may have taken place, allowing the army to now be as "in control" as anyone can be. And a little while ago I saw (on Fox) a group of young men shaking hands with soldiers--even kissing them--and seeming to be very grateful for their presence.

I found that scene very encouraging. At least the military is a respected institution, and I pray--earnestly--that it will now do all it can to keep this respect, while not yielding too much ground to the MB. Letting the MB gain too much power would, of course, be disastrous for Egypt, the whole Middle Wast, and us!

It is not a matter of him saying either "We are with Mubarak" or "We are with the Muslim Brotherhood". He could have repeatedly stated that he appreciates what Mubarak has done for peace in the ME. He could have publicly associated the riots with islamic extremism and anti-americanism and voiced his fear over the future of Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood. He could have encouraged Mubarak to stay in power but implement new democratic programs to answer the concerns of the the protesters while still keeping the MB in check.

What he chose instead was to sit on the sidelines and cheer while the thugs took over.

Just some suggestions....

No, but many evil things circle the US like wolves looking for a weakness or a moment to strike.

That is kind of like revolving....

I think I heard somewhere that the normal chain of succession would be for the Vice President to take over.

Seeing that the military has stepped in and taken control makes me worry. But they are the only ones that will be able to “keep the peace” so that things don't disintegrate into anarchy.

So we wait and watch. Hopefully, Obama doesn't do something stupid to screw things up.

Did she do this when they made a movie about killing our last President?

Or having attended Trinity United Church for so many years listening to a racist preacher, only to leave because the One was going to run and it may come out the tv diva may be attending a church spouting black liberation theology. Wouldn’t look good for Harpo Productions or its sponsors.
