Well, no surprise there. The Swiss thought nothing of giving up the account holders that were promised anonymity for all those decades.

The Swiss are whores now, always were. Helped the nazi’s while pretending neutrality.

Stupid move if true. They are going to lose billions if they no longer represent a safe haven.

His son left to London last week with a reported 74 suitcases.

Doubt any clothes cause they could shop in london. My guess lots of bonds, currencies, gold.

“That 70 billion belongs to the brotherhood” - Obama

Actually, that money needs to come back to US tax payers.

The Swiss have destroyed their banking reputation in a Faustian deal with the US Govt, to allow UBS, Credit Suisse and a few others to play with the other children on Wall Street.

If you want privacy, don’t go to Switzerland. I suggest Hong Kong instead.

I wonder if this is what took the army so long, tracking down the accounts.

Actually Luxembourg has some of the strongest banking laws in the world. Much better place of placing assets and can done very discretly.

“Actually, that money needs to come back to US tax payers”.

Actually it needs to go back to China and reduce our debt obligations. A debtor is beholden, that’s why many of us try and minimize debt.

They say Mubarak has a fleet of high tech Gulfstreams paid for by the US Military (huh - doesn’t that mean US taxpayers?)

Anyone honestly think that Mubarak knows how much a banana cost? He may have a lot of catching up to do. If he lives.

Besides, a couple books and he’ll be right back in the saddle.

Until they fall under the US /EU sword too. You need a small rouge state for privacy but then the protections are not the same

Cayman Islands are also a good spot to put your money discreetly.

This was one of the things Clinton went after during his presidency, eliminating banking secrecy in the usual banking havens like Switzerland, the Caymans, Panama and such.

He never went after Saudi banks, which maintain secrecy. So I always assumed that was where his money was.
