In a post I wrote regarding Michelle Obama and her plans to parent our children for us, I remarked about her $495 Tory Burch gardening boots. A few of the comments wondered why I brought them up, and why, as a capitalist, would I have a problem with pricey shoes?
The boots were mentioned to remind readers of how out of touch with reality the First Lady is. The average American mama doesnt have a single pair of shoes in her closet that cost that much, let alone gardening boots. When Im inclined to work outdoors, I put on a pair of three-year-old sneakers that are practically falling apart.
Referring to the self-appointed mom-in-chiefs aloofness when it comes to relating to us regular moms was useful to drive home the point that she is not qualified to make our parenting decisions for us. Only the best for the Obamas, whether its boots, school, vacation, vacation, vacation, or vacation. The rest of us can eat cake. Or carrot sticks.

I basically agree with your comments.
But when our side is constantly hectored by the MSM for similar things, it’s difficult to avoid returning fire.
Bull. Lands End stuff is made in the States. Her handlers could spend less on boots from there and save US around 300.00 bucks.
she lost her law license for unethical behavior, from what I read.
And barry lost his for not disclosing all his aliases.
I sware, I feel like Alice in Wonderland.
I believe the Obama’s know in their hearts that being Presidential is a one-night stand for them and they are milking the benefits.
Not if she was out gardening in them they wouldn’t.
If this were Sarah Palin...oh, that’s right there was a big stink over her wardrobe while she campaigned with McCain. What a stink that was.
We like to “turn over” the earth. Our dads turned over the earth in big shovel fulls — although we don't really know why.
And we don't pull weeds — we KILL acreage of pest plants with chemicals that are made in the old agent orange vats at the Thompson-Hayward plant.
We don't plant vegetables in a home garden. The wife can do that or go to the damn store. We aren't going to sit and watch the neighbors’ dogs pee on our hard work.
However, no matter what the damn Supreme Court says, Tomatoes aren't vegetables, they are fruit, so men can plant them as growing fruit is the only relation we have with that word and its homonyms. Men don't plant flowers either, we put in annual BEDS and perennial beds and vistas.
In the mans’ gardening dictionary when you look up “rain” it says, “See ‘Weekend’” and when you turn there it says, “See “Rain’”.
I have one word in closing: ROTO-TILLER.
“Michelle Obama’s $495 Gardening Boots Irk Me”
The media frenzy over their eating vegetables from the White House garden is a lie - and that irks me. They got ‘em at the grocery store.
“The heart is deceitful above all, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”
“Her handlers could spend less on boots from there and save US around 300.00 bucks”.
...just about the same amount as the GOP is going to reduce the budget by! :)
Drat. You beat me to it. But I really do go barefoot whenever I can get away with it. :)
I prefer John 8:44 to describe all things of the left.

Apparently not their shoes

Checked a few and they list “Imported”
This is like the Marxist Muslim saying Americans are too warm in winter, too cool in summer, too well fed and too well medicated, while explaining away the elevated thermostat in his own quarters as due to his coming from a warm climate.
Must be a danger to themselves if they eat french fries and feel guilty.
Likewise. Our teenage sons do the same thing with their sneakers - the newest ones go to school, the next ones down are for camping or mowing the lawn, and the third ones in line are water shoes. Water shoes are for canoeing or stream cleanups. My husband has re-soled more pairs of shoes than I care to think about.
No reason to attain power if you can’t “live large” once you’ve got it.
Besides, this just fits right in with their elitism. Only they, the elites, have enough discretion to be able to use resources wisely. Since you don’t, your use of resources must be controlled by someone who does.
Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply Company and similar places are where real farmers and gardners buy their stuff. Maybe she could send one of her manservants with an outline of her shoe size to one of these stores outside the I-495 Beltway.
Again proving you can take the B***H outta da hood but ya can’t take da hood outta da B***h.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up that thing in the White House, whatever it is.
