Keene steps down as American Conservative Union Chairman the night before CPAC
Daily Caller ^ | 2-9-11 | Steve Nelson

Posted on 02/09/2011 7:20:02 PM PST by STARWISE

David Keene, the longtime chairman of the American Conservative Union, stepped down on Wednesday as the leader of the organization, one day ahead of the first of its annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Keene had chaired the organization since 1984 and will still preside over the annual conservative gathering. His impending exit had been anticipated, but not the timing.

Al Cardenas was selected to succeed Keene. Cardenas was born in Cuba in 1948, and has been a player in conservative politics since the Reagan presidency.

“I look forward to taking advantage of the new energies we see today in the conservative movement to make this storied organization even more influential in the future” said Cardenas in a press release.

Amen. The culture, morals, modesty and propriety
of our society have purposely gradually been
coarsened over the last couple of decades by the
‘if it feels good, do it’ loud, proud lib crowds.
And they have sadly succeeded in desensitizing the
public, and especially the youth, to it all so that
they think anything and everything is normal.

How very, very sad... what a tragic loss.

Here's the statement from the chairman of GOProud (real conservatives don't engage in identity politics like this) about the conflict over their presence at CPAC. Tell me if they sound docile and harmless to you:

But Christopher Barron, chairman of GOProud‘s board, said the boycott has been “a complete and total unmitigated disaster for the boycotters.”

“These are people who have been treated like clowns for years,” he said. “They’re not relevant, they haven’t been relevant, and it’s a disservice to the conservative movement to pretend that their boycott, their non-participation, is somehow symptomatic of a wider split in the conservative movement.”

See, they already presume to speak for the entire 'conservative movement'. No thanks.

“Gays might be trivial but the gay agenda involves shoving their deviancy down the throats of schoolkids.”

Literally, if they get their way!

I would imagine it would be easier to criticize homosexual behavior if you aren’t looking for votes from the people you’re criticizing. You don’t want them in the big tent. You don’t want them working at RNC or for Republicans in DC.

I think we should try to see if we can get the rapists support. What do the rapists want? And the arsonist-americans? More bonfires at events? Any crazy people, any interest group at all, we are supposed to allow them to influence our message?

Limits on the bedroom thing go both ways. They want recognition of what they do in the bedroom.

Conservatives don’t go around asking heterosexuals what kind of sex they are involved in.

2 men share an apartment, I don’t care. 2 men say “Hey we’re gay, give us special rights because of the kind of sex we engage in.”, I say NO.

If you feel you must telle what kind of sex you are engaging in, I have the right to NOT give you special privileges because of it.

My personal opinion is that if you are for limited government, you are for a government that doesn’t get ask what is going on in your bedroom

Honestly, nobody cares...until they are doing it in the street and calling it a parade, getting court rulings for special rights and teaching it to school kids.

John O said:

To the mentally healthy (heterosexual) sex is something you do;
To the mentally diseased ("homosexual") sex is everything you are.

The deal breaker for me is the growing association with Muslim Brotherhood types. As for the embezzlement, there have been a lot of examples of people on top with their hand in the cookie jar. Then prosecute those individuals for embezzlement. The MB associations however indicate the organization has been seriously compromised. MB and small government conservatism is incompatible to the point of mutually exclusive.

Neither are the homosexual or muslim agendae,
and there IS an ongoing, active agenda in this
country for both.

If GOPride had not come at the conservative movement as a bloc saying, basically, “We’re queer and we’re here”, I’d agree with you. But they made their presence about being queer. If Lola from Mineola wants to join because she’s a conservative who wants to advance conservatism and has quietly kept the fact that she’s a practicing dyke to herself, family and circle of personal associations, great. I COULD NOT CARE LESS who she sleeps with. But when she comes at conservatism with the primary concern and announcement that she’s a dyke, I strongly suspect what her agenda really is and I question her true motive.

I’ll pass. When any element has a significant interest in presenting and pushing an agenda that is beside the point of the main subject (conservatism, in this case), my instincts tell me to just say no. These people are queer first and conservative second, if their claim of being conservative is not just another leftist scam/charade/trojan horse.

My point exactly.

I have to wonder if they’re queers who happen to be conservative or if they’re leftist queers trying to come on strong to make the conservative movement appear “intolerant.”

What is the point of the ACU and CPAC if the an embezzling George HW Bush supporter is replaced by by former Crist supporter, at a time when the ACU has Muslim Brotherhood members on its board and lets the anti-conservative GOPround attend?
Clean house, dissolve with a sense of honor, or we will be forced to brand them corrupt traitors.

I don’t think we need this “pride” stuff. I reckon its a concept that betrays a left wing mindset.

So, incest, beastiality, polygamy, man boy sex, father-daughter sex, father-son sex, prostitituion, sex slavery is all none of the government's business, huh?

And anyone should be able to marry anybody for any reason and the government should automatically treat all marriages as "equal" and not discriminate against any of them in things like adoption?

Does that cover it?

Cardenas...support of Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio in the 2010 Senate race...

Uhh.. Yikes. This might explain the organization's name change from "CPAC" to "FudgePAC". If this crazy CPAC insists on swirling itself down the toilet, I'll gladly push the handle again and again for them. Wow.. What a pathetic laughingstock.

““Gays” are trivial next to the foothold the Muslim Brotherhood (via Suhail Khan) has attained in this ostensibly “conservative” group.”

They are both in lock step with the communist manifesto, destroying the Christian parts of the West from within and without.

It’s not an either/or proposition. Neither belong anywhere near a “conservative” convention.

“My personal opinion is that if you are for limited government, you are for a government that doesn’t get ask what is going on in your bedroom, “

If you think homosexuality is limited to what goes on in the bedroom, you are sadly mistaken. Try living in a gay dominated political area for a while.

-They disrupt church services, both by infiltrating and by protesting outside.

-They have public sex, including sadomasochistic sex, in public, at their special events. Nudity and near nudity is routine in the Castro. Photos of these events are published in the local newspaper, and children are taken to these events.

-They promote homosexuality in the public school system, and children or parents who oppose it are labelled “haters.” If you opt your kid out of “sex” ed, they put him in there anyway. They ignore you. Homosexual men stand in front of prepubescent kids and describe in detail what they enjoy doing to each other.

-They refuse freedom of speech and religion to employees, government civil servants, and those on picket lines. We have bubble zones. We have to hide it if we don’t believe homosexuality is something to be celebrated. Or we will be fired.

-We are forced to honor their unions as a marriage similar to that of our grandma and grandpa, with equal value and worth. We must pay the same medical benefits to a homo’s boyfriend as we do to a man’s wife.

-We must subsidize their diseases which they routinely seek, with our tax dollars.

-We can’t operate an adoption agency unless we agree to place kids with homosexuals. Even if we are a religious adoption agency, such as the Catholics who’ve run orphanages and adoptions for decades.

-Charities that don’t embrace homosexuality, such as the Salvation Army, can’t operate here.

-Churches are sued. Christian business are sued. You don’t want to photograph a gay “wedding?” You don’t want to bake a cake for a gay porn shoot? You don’t want to hire a gay musician for your worship service? Prepare to be sued. And lose.

-Legitimate propositions, legally voted on by the people, that threaten homosexual activism, are stymied by the courts and not enforced.

-Churches and conservative organizations get discriminated against via building zones and etc.

-Bus ads and eye level billboards show homosexual porn. You are going to look at it, and so are your kids, “like it or not!”

-Other perversions, long closeted, become more and more accepted. Polygamy, polyamory, bestiality, pederasty, etc., begin to be promoted and tolerated. With the accompanying damaged to children, and of course, animals.

-The Boy Scouts get refused berths in public piers, camp sites, etc., because they won’t cave to having homosexual men lead teen boys on overnight camping trips. Their public service is accepted but no space or help is given back. The Girl Scouts already caved.

-Firefighters are forced to ride on floats in homosexual parades, on full display as objects of lust for the homosexual community. Amazingly, after a long lawsuit, the firefighters won the right not to be forced to do that anymore. But they had to do it first. Nice.

The communist manifest details the promotion of homosexuality and the destruction of the nuclear family as primary goals to prepare a people for slavery. And here you embrace it as “something that just goes on in the bedroom?” Nonsense. If so, most of us would never know it existed.

You do not want homosexuals in political power.
