“Streep, one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, was seen as one of the few women capable of convincingly playing Lady Thatcher”

No, she is seen as one of the few—maybe the only, I don’t really know that world all that well—actresses of her age who can headline a hit movie. Oh, and she’s famous for doing accents.

Streep is a fine actress but even she couldn’t save THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

I think that about sums it up. My twelve-year-old recently saw several Streep movies and asked, "Does she ever change? She seems to be the same person in every movie, just with a different voice."

Everyone tells me she is a great actress, and I just don't see it.
