I was following along OK until we got to Global Warming. The author is a nut job.
“with public transportation and with public housing”
This was your moonbat alert.
Every survivor of the Soviet Union that I have met is happy that America has private transportation and private housing.
While I don't belive in the AGW theory, nor in Global Warming as a proven trend, I think his main idea that we've been living in a golden age weather-wise has a lot going for it. Whether that lasts another 1000 years, or ends I don't think we know enough to say.
I am firmly of the belief that global cooling would be much harder for humanity to survive than even the worst global warming scenario I've seen. After all the earth has experienced many periods of near total glaciation. Should that happen again I'm not sure we wouldn't lose a few billion humans in the procress.
I actually thought the Peak Oil belief was the weakest part of the essay, but found it interesting despite some of the weaknesses on these issues.
He is an outsider looking at America. He call us "you", not us. It's a good perspective to view things from, even if, in the end you reject his conclusions. Which is why I posted it.
