CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — Three teenage boys were shot to death in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez, at least two of them U.S. citizens and high school students in Texas, authorities said Monday.

The boys were killed at 4:22 p.m. Saturday while looking at cars in a dealership in the city across the border from El Paso, Texas, Chihuahua prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval said. One was found inside a white Jeep Cherokee and the other two in the courtyard.

TINO’s - Texans In Name Only - Read this morning that even though they were citizens of the U.S., both lived in Juarez.

The principal at Cathedral High said Gonzalez Bermudez mainly lived in Ciudad Juarez and commuted each day across the border. He said 20 percent of the 485 students enrolled at Cathedral are from Ciudad Juarez.

The victims were:

Carlos Mario Gonzalez Bermudez, 16
Juan Carlos Echeverri, 15
Cesar Yalin Miramontes Jimenez, 17

The problem with this kind of tragedy is that nowadays you have to wonder, fairly or not, whether these three "Texas teens" might have been hitters for one of the drug cartels.

Er, yes. Teenagers living in Mexico can afford Jeep Cherokees on their busboy salaries.

I am sick and tired of foreign nationals, or AINOs (Americans In Name Only) being described as "American," simply because they live in the United States.

This clever family was gaming the system, with homes on both sides of the border. Abusing the American system and sharing the corruption on the other side.

Americans don't vacation in Mexico. Certainly not spend the weekend in Ciudad Juarez.
El Paso needs to tear down every bridge, make the river wider and deeper, seed it with sharks (yes, there ARE fresh water sharks) and pirahnas and use a lot more barbed wire. I spent time in El Paso in mid-2001. Loved the place.

That was then, this is now.
