George Bush issued travel warning by human rights organisations

Human rights groups have vowed to track George W Bush round the world after their success in forcing him to cancel a trip to Switzerland amid concerns over protests and a threatened arrest warrant.

Katherine Gallagher, a lawyer with the New York-based Centre for Constitutional Rights, said: "The reach of the convention against torture is wide. This case is prepared and will be waiting for him wherever he travels next.

"Torturers, even if they are former presidents of the United States, must be held to account and prosecuted."

Although Bush has travelled freely round the world since leaving the White House in January 2009, human rights groups believe he is vulnerable to prosecution after admitting in his autobiography last November that he authorised waterboarding and other interrogation techniques.

"Waterboarding is torture, and Bush has admitted, without any sign of remorse, that he approved its use," said Gallagher, who is also vice-president of the International Federation for Human Rights.

I can only hope I’d be capable of that kind of faith when the time comes.

You may as well ask why Obama engenders such hatred from the Right. Two sides of the same coin. The answer is ideology and the age-old human tendency to treat others who have different ideologies as the enemy.

The irony here is that, by overthrowing Saddam Hussein, Bush did 1000 more to stop REAL torture than these morons will ever dream of stopping.

Obama is at the extreme left end of the political continuum by almost anyone's standards. Bush is/was not. Thats my point.

Carter & Clinton are able to travel the globe without incident. Where're the threats & hatred?

Even Bill Clinton dropped a few bombs on Saddam when Saddam threatened the life of George H. W. Bush. Such a threat should be taken seriously by the US government, and dealt with in a similar fashion.

Because he doesn’t care what they think of him.

Isn’t stalking illegal?

Waterboarding is not torture. It’s not a walk in the park, but it ain’t torture.

"Torturers, even if they are former presidents of the United States, must be held to account and prosecuted."

How about stalkers and terrorizers? Do you support holding them to account and prosecuting them?

Funny how the left thinks everything they do is okay, but it's not okay for those they deem "conservative". If someone were to be tracking them around the world, they'd be screaming like little girls.

I wish he would have authorized its use on Ms. Gallagher, but he didn't. You know who he did authorize waterboarding on? People who thought it was okay to chop off people's heads and fly planes into office buildings. My heart bleeds for the pain they had to endure at the hands of this remorseless tyrant. NOT!

I understand and agree with your point. The Left tends to be more vocal, and in socialist Europe, it gets away with more extreme virulence.

However, GWB could travel if he wants. Those paying close attention to the man during his second term could see that he was totally burned out. So it doesn’t surprise me that he wants nothing to do with politics anymore, and that includes walking into the face of stupid Leftist controversies. He’s happy back home in Texas. That’s where his heart has always been.

This is effing evil. Castro is a real torturer and murderer; Arafat was a real torturer and murderer. They got standing Os from the leftist swine.

Exactly! Leftists whined that GWB was trying to “avenge his daddy” by going after Saddam. Uh, GHWB was the fricking PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES. Saddam was lucky he didn’t get a nuclear enema. Lay a hand on a POTUS and you WILL feel the wrath, no matter what. I’d feel the same if some loser country tried to harm one hair on the head of Obama. He may be a SOB, but he’s OUR SOB.
