That’s what I’ve been saying. Palin has the right stand on the issues, but the media will do to Palin what they did to Goldwater in ‘64, but on steroids. Obama won’t be running against Palin, he’ll be running against a media-generated caricature of Palin, and the sheeple will buy it, just like they did LBJ’s line of BS in ‘64.

You sound like ‘the sheeple’ buying the bogus polls that are being published for one reason only...to sway weak minded idiots!

Reagan was 30 points behind Carter a year before the election. We are TWO years out! Two years out President H.W. Bush had a 92% approval rating...yet he lost.

It is way too early to put any credence in these polls.

I’ll let you in on a little secret...the establishment Republicans are not afraid Governor Palin would lose, they are afraid she would win and screw it up for Jeb in 2016.

The media will caricature any GOP nominee, people act like the media will stop fiercely attacking if say Pawlenty or Mitt or Newt is the nominee instead of Palin.... Mitt will be the flip flopper who can’t make tough decisions, Newt will be an immoral man who walked away from his wives, Barbour and Huckabee will be good ole southern boys against a black man Huck will be castigated for releasing a cop-killer

McCain was the medias best friend but as soon as he got the nomination the media turned on him as old, out of touch and that he couldn’t control his race tinged rallies.

Palin might lose to Obama in 2012 but there will be no parallel to 1964. LBJ ran as a proud leftist in an era before leftism had discredited itself. Goldwater ran as a proud conservative at conservatism’s lowest political ebb. Obama will have to run as a covert leftist long after having blown his cover in an era when every sentient creature knows that the left is hideously destructive. He might win, but there's no way he would carry Tennessee, and I very much doubt he could win, barring a dramatic economic turnaround.

Jimmy Carter looked like a lead pipe cinch against Reagan in 1979. He crushed Reagan in all sorts of national polls, except the one that counted. Asking people what they think about an election nearly 2 years hence in almost meaningless. Far from suggesting that a Palin candidacy is in trouble, this poll indicates the reverse — that polling data can't be trusted as an indicator of her prospects.

All this hyperventilating about Sarah Palin is pointless and unseemly. Either she is what the caricaturists say she is, in which case she'll fall flat on her face, or she isn't, in which case she will have as good a chance of beating Obama as anyone Republicans could nominate. What will be, will be and today's polls won't affect it at all. Ignore the polls and let events unfold.

Because if the nominee is not Palin, Obama and the lefty press will play it straight with the Republican...

C'mon, we been through this before. The lefty press will trash whoever the nominee is. Palin is getting the heat right now because she's the front runner. Who is the magical candidate who won't get the Palin treatment?

The 2010 midterms say different. The tea party knows he’s a rabid marxist like we have never had and a bunch of his voters of 2008 realize how big a mistake it was to vote for him.She will wear his skinny ass out.

OK, but that will be true of ANY conservative candidate. So our choices are (1) let the LSM pick our candidate, a CINO “moderate” like MittCare Romney or (2) ignore the push-polls, PDSers, and LSM, choose our own candidate, and try to pull a Reagan-style win that counts for something.

I choose (2). People such as pissant clearly choose (1). What do you choose?
