Oops, just noticed she’s resigning right away, so it will obviously be a special election under the current district lines. It’s a longshot, but not unwinnable; I’d be a lot more sanguine about our chances if we had done better in CA this past November.

a bigger question is not whether GOP can compete in this district, but whether they will even try to run a legit campaign. Michael Steele would have called for a punt. RNC likes to punt of 3rd down and 2.

I’d say that seat is about as rat as the 10th, which we failed to win in the special last year.
It certainly calls for a real effort to be made. We’ll see if we get one.
