They’ll always remember the time they were at the Super Bowl and screwed it up.

It sounds like she’s singing it for Soul Train.

I don’t know if it’s just me but Christina reminded me a lot of Roseann singing the anthem years ago. They both sounded like screeching to me. Granted it is a difficult song to sing. But somewhere between the west coast and the east coast and all points in between there must be a person who can sing it with the dignity it deserves.

What an ignorant cow!

You could hear the National Anthem sung perfectly at any high school sporting event in my town!

Next time, let my basset hounds sing it. They croon to Hank Williams like nobody’s business and listening to them softly howl with their eyes closed, nose pointing to heaven, to Patsy Cline will absolutely break your heart.

Here is one from Steven Tyler that got some cheers at the Indy 500 2001. Complaints many.

I wouldn't let that skank sing at a kids birthday party for free much less let her butcher the national anthem at the super bowl, whoever had the idea of letting her sing should be fired immediately.

That was singing?

The Gatlin brothers always did a great job with the national anthem. No long drawn out syllables, just great harmony.

It was god friken awful!!! The Star Spangled Banner is not a rock/hip hop/ballad. It’s a martial type song meant to inspire. The “America The Beautiful” was awe inspiring. That was sung with grace and beauty. As an aside, I’ve always thought that “God Bless America” or “America The Beautiful” should have been our anthem. It talks about the beauty of our country.

The words written by Francis Scott Key are stirring and beautiful. However the choice of the melody they were put to was a popular drinking song at the time called “To Anacreon in Heaven’’ I’ve always loved ‘America the Beautiful’’.
