The biggest moment any singer can ask for: "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl. And Christina Aguilera messed up the lyrics. At about 51 seconds in, as she was about to sing the fourth line ("O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming"), she accidentally sang a hybrid of the second line: "What so proudly we watched, at the twilight's last streaming."

What is your problem? Ordinarily folks don't misquote folks on the same thread but you keep on doing it.
Can't hold your lemonade or something?
To: GVnana
You didn’t sing it either.
To: muawiyah
I’ll admit. It’s not the worst rendition I’ve ever heard. But it was still horrible.

Cher actually did a great job at the Super Bowl about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Sang it the way it was written.

None of us are paying for it. None of us were doing it. This is a football game.
Pop a top and get over it ~ a new version.

She recovered well enough...must be horrible to screw up at such a epic level.
I give her a “F” for singing but a B+ for Grace.

I think Frank Drebin did it better in Naked Gun.

The best version of the National Anthem at a sporting event was by Robert Merrill of the NY Metropolitan Opera.

You imagine she knows Spanish ~ she's born here. Her mother's born here. Her dad was born elsewhere but he moved here and he's an American military veteran.
I probably know a lot more Spanish than she does ~ and you?
Can you say "salsa"?
Bet you can.
To: Fred Hayek
Naw, he was terrible. The best was the little girl down the street. Sang it all through highschool at every sports event. She has a natural operatic voice. Alas your mom and dad thought she should be a bean counter!
A true loss.
But she could make the flagpole quiver without amplification.
To: Bluebeard16
I think Sandi Patty's version is the absolute best.

Remember when folks would sing songs without running up and down the scales besides???
Man, I hate that. American Idol and all the rest I can’t watch because 90% of the singers just run up and down the scales and throw in unnecessary vibrato and all sorts of goofy vocal gymnastics.
It’s a SONG! Just SING IT!

Just a minor request to the NFL ... PLEASE get a singer who: 1) has the needed range to hit all the notes and 2) the needed memory to remember the lyrics. In lieu of 2, a telepromter will suffice. (Hey ... It’s worked for the Kenyan squatter-in-chier thus far!)
