If I were them, short haircut, tight sports bra and lower my voice.
Keep the helmet!

An oldie but goodie.
I posted this way back in 2007 in an effort to share with my FRiends what the hijab is all about - enjoy
Each and every time I see this nonsense, I want to vomit - many westerners seem to think that for a woman visiting a Muslim country that this is a "show of respect", well it isn't.
What it shows is just how ignorant we are.
Submission of the Dhimmicrats
"Naïveté in grownups is often charming; but when coupled with vanity it is indistinguishable from stupidity." ~ Eric Hoffer
Perhaps you find those to be harsh words for a woman who ranks second in the line of presidential succession, following Vice President Dick Cheney. A woman who is foolish and naive enough to think that by donning a "hijab" in an Islamic country that she is merely showing respect for her hosts. She isn't.
What Nancy Pelosi fails to understand is that by donning the hijab she is not showing respect for the culture of her hosts. From remote villages to cosmopolitan mega cities, women all across the world, from every ethnic background, wear the hijab. The hijab is not a "cultural thing". The hijab has nothing to do with culture, it has everything to do however with Islam.
In the alternative, perhaps Nancy Pelosi is naive enough to think that she is showing respect for the religious beliefs of her hosts. She isn't. No two Islamic scholars will argue that the wearing of the hijab is not based on a woman's respect or submission to man, but rather on the woman's submission to the will of Allah.

I notice no one has responded to your most excellent post.

That choice belongs to the Iraqi people.
Yet, we will ensure that one brutal dictator is not replaced by another.
All Iraqis must have a voice in the new government, and all citizens must have their rights protected."

Hiya jaz! Thanks...I try when I am able and have the time. Both being in short supply of late.
[PRESIDENT] George Bush has been gone from office over two years but some of the BDSers will be around for a long time.
Yep! And they are another reason I do not spend as much time here as I once did. ;*(

Wonderful! Being ex- Army let me say, you are number one, making yourself a clear target by wearing these. Two, you are a soldier first, act like it. Never would I sacrifice safety for politics. As Civil Affairs, you are in the mix, making yourself a target is ridiculous. Maybe you should know your enemy first. Donning this attire relegates you to the class of property and renders you a target. OMG.. really?!

“Concerns” in quotations! Come on JAN! Wake up!
Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has shown over and over again that the Shariah provisions of the constitution trump the human rights provisions. We’re talking de facto vs. de jure.
George Bush’s statement quoted by you is very naive. That is why Iraq’s Christian community was safer even under Saddam.
