Next Thursday marks the start of the Conservative Political Action Conference, commonly known as CPAC, where conservative activists gather every year in Northwest Washington, D.C.
It's a chance for bigwigs to make speeches to a ballroom full of influential types, which makes it a particularly choice venue for Republican presidential aspirants, which speak there regularly. It's a packed three-day schedule from Thursday through Saturday, so there's room enough for most of them.
Tea party hero Michele Bachmann, whose office indicated in January that she's considering a 2012 run, will be the first of the 2012ers to speak. Bachmann, many will recall, just delivered a televised response to President Obama's State of the Union address, orchestrated by the group Tea Party Express.

“I hope she speaks on how morality is essential to a free people and how immorality destroys a nation.”
I agree, with CPAC embracing Homosexuals she could lose credibility as a strong voice for moral/social conservatism. She is key to the 2012 primary in keeping the GOP from drifting to the left.
“In my view, Representative Michele Bachmann is a genuine conservative leader. However, CPAC, as it is now constituted, is simply incompatible with core conservative values on moral issues, such as homosexual behavior. That Michele Bachmann has chosen to speak to this group at their national convention is problematic for me. However, because of my respect for Michele Bachmann, I’ll withhold any condemnations until I learn what she actually says to them. This could be a ‘Sister Souljah moment’ for Bachmann and I truly hope that it is.”
“I long ago abandoned the concept of any politician having conservative ‘purity’. However, because I find so few real political conservatives on the national scene at a time when they are most needed, I am bitterly disappointed when it appears as if one of the few conservative leaders in Washington is showing a distinct disregard for basic conservative moral values and by association, giving tacit approval to homosexual behavior as something conservatives can endorse under the illusion of being ‘inclusive’. This is why I refuse to throw Michele Bachmann under the metaphorical bus until I know exactly what she says in her upcoming speech at CPAC. However, like many others, I’m disappointed that she chose to speak at this convention.”
Wow....so very articulated “Jim Scott”....it just had to repeated. Very well done. I wished I could write as clearly.
I only hope that equal representation of zoophiles, necrophiliacs, pedophiles (oops, homosexuals will already be there) and those involved in loving incestuous relationships are at CPAC; after all, we wouldn’t want to be discriminatory when it comes to sexual perversion.

Well, that explains then why Bachman is actually working in the public arena while palin is going on book tours, making TV shows and earning a small fortune on the rubber chicken circuit, doesn't it?
Explain, please.
Before or after GOProud?
