Of course there's rarely a cop at hand when an emergency rises--that's why I carry a gun--and have guns in my home. FGS, one would think that on an army base, at least the military police would be armed (where have you heard that before?LOL!) That damned Jihadi knew that everyone on that base was his sitting duck, and he picked off way too many before he was finally stopped.

I repeat, the MPs were and are armed. As are the civilian DoD police and the contract gate guards.

IIRC all have various 9mm handguns. Don't know what the cops, both MPs and civilian, have in the trunks of the police cars.
