We need a lot more wealthy immigrants who will invest in our country. Also highly educated scientists, medical workers and technicians would be welcomed. We don’t need more taxi drivers.

Agreed. We need less immigration and a merit based system vice the current kinship system we have now. In the midst of this economic downturn, we are bringing in over 100,000 legal foreign workers a month. With 25 million Americans looking for fulltime employment and 15 million considered unemployed, do we need more workers, most of whom are unskilled and uneducated?

Unfortunately, you may get an educated person, but what happens is that as soon as he/she gets ‘in’ the rest of the uneducated and decrepit family follows through sponsorship. We really don’t need them at all. Melting pot is a misnomer; our immigration laws are being used to overcrowd this country with far too many people yearning to become public asset users instead of contributors.
