Fox News’ Greg Palkot Was Blindfolded And Accused Of Being Israeli Spy
Mediaite ^ | 2/3/11 | Colby Hall

Earlier today we reported on the attacks of Fox News journalists Greg Palkot and video journalist Olaf Wiig that sent them both to the hospital with “fairly grave” injuries . Mediaite has learned that upon being rushed the hospital, Palkot and Wiig were both detained by military police and accused of being Israeli spies. A source with knowledge of the situation says that Palkot was blindfolded throughout the ordeal.

It was an exceptionally nerve wracking 24 hours at Fox News, according to our source, with a flurry of calls being made behind the scenes as a small team of executives were on pins & needles throughout. We’re told both Palkot and Wiig have been in touch with executives there who were relieved to hear their voices, although both are said to be extremely shaken and are only operating on adrenalin at this point.

I’ll never forget watching this idiot Palkot in Fallujah with Charlie Co. of the 3rd. Battalion/5th. Marine Div. Ok, I’ll give him credit for being there but I’ll never forgive this insensitive clod for his trying to keep shoving the microphone into the face of the commanding officer of Charlie Co., Cpt. Jeffery Chontosh when he had been told of the death of one of his lieutenants. Captain Chontosh had taken himself to the corner of the roof of a building to try and compose himself and deal with the loss of one of his Marines and this idiot Palkot wouldn’t leave him alone. That poor Marine captain was doing his level best to behave like an officer and a gentleman when you could see he clearly wanted to rip Palkots head off and shove the microphone were the Sun didn’t shine.

I like Greg Palkot very much. He’s very good at what he does.

Now if we could just get Geraldo and Shlep, the gay one, to jump over there.... and stay.

This does not sound like “pro Mubarak”
Indeed- it sounds like deliberate thuggery to inflame the situation and it is apparent which side benefits from inciting violence

“Spies of Israel” is a lefty fundie accusation, not a “pro Mubarak” sentiment

I wonder if these talking heads will have the same blind tolerance of Jihad after one or two of them has lost theirs?

There’s something very wrong with the reporting out of Egypt anyway. Its like they’ve forgotten the reporting they did last week and are now telling a different story.”

Yeah, they’re discovering they’re not immune to a dictator’s goons...that they get beaten just like the Egyptians do.
They weren’t paying much attention to Iran 2009 until Neda was killed, and the crowds demonstrating there were much bigger than Egypt.

Something else worth thinking about is the claim that Mubarak is supported by about 10% of the population which incidentally is about the same percentage of the population that are Coptic Christian. Also not real likely to accuse reporters of being Israeli spies.

Apparently they threatened to behead a journalist.

Once again, it doesn’t fit the narrative the media is pushing.

However it does fit a narrative about how foolish it is to treat ignorant and barbaric savages as if they were civilized human beings...

Ok...someone explain this to me. EVERY news snippet about this attack described his attackers as “pro-Mubarak”. But does it make sense that the supporters of a President who is a generally secular Muslim, a strong, longstanding partner of the U.S., who is respected by Israel, who has honored a peace agreement with Israel for 30 years, which his opponents have denounced - would they really blindfold an American and accuse them of being an Israeli spy? Really? Or does it sound more like the Muslim Brotherhood, whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel, who has promised to scrap the peace treaty if they were to take power, whose alumni include radical Muslims like Ayman al-Zawahiri, who trains those who blindfold (and behead) Westerners? Just sayin’.

wake up and realize that there is no such thing as a “Peace loving Muslim”

If only; but they will never awaken to such realities. These people lack moral reasoning capability; and so do not resonate with truth of any kind/any level. . . .

Truth right now, coming on like a freight train; and the Left remains, playing on the tracks. Pathetic.

I agree. This "counter-demonstration" by so called pro Mubarak groups smells of a false flag operation.

This is shaping up to be like the 1917 October Revolution in Russia.

It’s possible he encountered both sides, one in the street, the other at the hospital. Lucky he didn’t accomplish a hat trick.

“I like Palkot. Damn muzzies”

Agree on both counts. Anderson Cooper and his minor “roughing up” are certainly overshadowed by what our fine newsmen at FNC were put through. But sadly, I wonder if what happened to them and the severity of it were even covered by other “news” networks.

It’s almost turning into a “my network got roughed up and intimidated worse than yours!” Drama.

I pray safety and truth for all of them. The story needs watching and not pontificating. I believe the military will take over. Lets hope they have a strong chain of command that believes in the need for civilian status leadership.

“When will America wake up and realize we are at war with Islam...”

What people need to learn about and realize is that Islam is at war with US - demonstrated countless times over the years, escalating at a shocking rate. It’s an ugly truth that people had better get before it’s too late. We’re at the eleventh hour here.

We didn’t start it, but we damn well better finish it.

The Hamas Covenant demands conquest and domination. For those who don’t know, the Covenant is a muslim global constitution and I suggest that all read it.

http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp

Just a few selected items.

Article Four:

The Islamic Resistance Movement welcomes every Moslem who embraces its faith, ideology, follows its programme, keeps its secrets, and wants to belong to its ranks and carry out the duty. Allah will certainly reward such one.

The Slogan of the Islamic Resistance Movement:

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

Article Eleven:

This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.

Article Thirteen:

Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that. For the sake of hoisting the banner of Allah over their homeland they fight. “Allah will be prominent, but most people do not know.” >>

>>”But the Jews will not be pleased with thee, neither the Christians, until thou follow their religion; say, The direction of Allah is the true direction. And verily if thou follow their desires, after the knowledge which hath been given thee, thou shalt find no patron or protector against Allah.” (The Cow - verse 120).

I was thinking about this...it is actually two-fold.

Islam and Progressives...ultimately some bastardized form of Communism is their combined goal.

As soon as the Muslim Brotherhood started touting social justice you know they are co-opting each other...kind of the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

We better wake up and start dealing with this very seriously.
