For more than a week, Zaki Abdel-Aziz had been out of work and nearly out of money, joining millions of Egyptians living more on hope than cash as the capital plunged into chaos and the economy ground to a virtual halt.
His wife and three children were hungry, tired and tense. There was just over $17 (100 pounds) in their apartment, and no way to borrow more. Then a chilling call came Tuesday night.
"The guy asked me, 'Zaki, you haven't worked for a week, right? You don't have money?'" Abdel-Aziz, 45, recalled. "He said, 'Come out tomorrow and you'll get 100 pounds and a bag of food. All you have to do is join us against those traitors in Tahrir."

Or in this case, a counter-revolution.

Some Egyptian guy in NYC called into Savage yesterday and said his family members in Egypt reported that money was being handed out to the demonstrators in the square. Where was that $ coming from? Iran?

Read up on the history of the French Revolution.Yes!! Let the eat cake!
Mubarek was the best of a bad list of options for the US to support in Egypt. Now Obama has thrown Egyptian Democracy under the bus, insuring that the next government there will be like Iran, or the Taliban. I would suspect that some of those who are called to protest do so reluctantly, knowing full well they are sowing the seed of their own destruction.

Now some democrat fascist will step forward and propose a UN program to ship food we pay for to Egypt.
Where are all those really smart people the democrat faithful like to say are in their party and why didn't they start a very well publicized food airlift to Egypt two days ago? I bet you money the military told Barry Saucer-Ears that there would be food shortages.

History has shown that food is a great motivator for revolutions.
One of the first things that broke through the public school brainwashing I got as a kid was when my brother pointed out that fat men don't start revolutions. The limousine liberals may talk a good fight, but they will never actually do anything. As long as people have something to lose, they won't start a fight. That's why students (think about it destroy my entire net worth when I was in college and I was out maybe $50) and the urban poor are the ones that take to the street. If the city gets destroyed, what do they care, it wasn't theirs anyway. And they might be able to loot up something in the process.
Egypt is the perfect example. They have a giant welfare class that does nothing but hang out at the mosque where they are told that all their problems are caused by someone else. It is the natural breeding ground for a revolution.

People, this is AP.
Look for the angle. They're trying to say that the anti-islamist fighters are mere money-hungry-capitalist-jooos.
Screw AP.

There were multiple reports that pro-government demonstrators were actually government or union employees that were bused in and given money to be there. Sound familiar? It’s the violent Arab version of the SEIU tactic.

Obviously the memo has come down that the poor freedom fighters have never been violent or said anything against America until the evil pro-government minority swooped in and caused all this trouble.
