Well that changes everything. Now we have bailiffs who can't overpower a guy on crutches without shooting him! (Twice!) I am reminded of the female bailiff in Atlanta who was over powered by a huge defendant. He then went on a killing spree.
And THEN shot him a second time after he was DOWN???
TWICE! Well, technically once on crutches and once while bleeding on the floor.
No, the cop shot the guy on crutches for mouthing-off.
Ban crutches!!!
An eye witness (what, mother of the shot person?) says this and that.. I’m going to wait to hear from all the eye witnesses and the other evidence first. Don’t want to pull an Obama here..
Clearly self defense.
What are you whining about?
The guy on crutches was lucky he didn't bring a seeing-eye dog...
Auburn University.
The violence is spreading westward from Egypt!
A preliminary investigation of a shooting at Goodwater City Hall indicates that at approximately 9:39 a.m. today, a defendant attacked the Municipal Court judge and attempted to forcibly obtain a firearm when he was shot by a Goodwater police officer who was providing courtroom security, according to a Department of Public Safety press release.

I am going to pass on a little knowledge I learned as a young man. I was just out of the Army 1970 a little wild anyway I had to go to court and I showed some disrespect for the government and their judges, I got 11 months and 29 days to think it over never did it again!
A white person with white skin, and a white hat, who drove a white SUV is the likely suspect here.
The dog would have been shot THREE times!
ON CRUTCHES?
So the cops shot a guy on crutches?
If the cop used excessive force right in front of a judge, will he get away with it?
Oh, I thought you said she went to college.
You're outnumbered and you've stepped into a minefield. AB is a Professor at Auburn. Since you appear to be misinformed, I won't bore you with the number of astronauts, Captains of Industry, Military flag officers, scientists or engineers Auburn has produced.
That means he tried to grab a gun from the officer or a bailiff.
That will get you shot - particularly after the Brian Nichols case, in which Judge Rowland Barnes and his court reporter and bailiff were killed while court was in session. His calendar clerk and secretary were pistol-whipped and badly injured. I knew Judge Barnes and know his calendar clerk quite well. She is crippled and can't even go out of her house without having a panic attack.
NOMW, the Fulton Cty sheriff's department is going to pay out big judgments for violating their own protocol. Three deputies left the video monitoring equipment in the jail to go get breakfast, leaving a 60 year old female deputy to escort Nichols to court. This after Judge Barnes had told the sheriff's office that Nichols was dangerous -- he had threatened court personnel and had been caught with a shank -- and the judge had asked for special protection. He took her gun and the rest all followed.
Fulton is dysfunctional, but I imagine courtroom officials are taking no chances these days.
Too bad so sad. Regrettable collateral damage but at least her equal opportunity employment rights were protected.
