LOST is far more egregious than Title IX, IMO. We can reverse Title IX, as Reagan tried valiantly to do, but if we create the UN’s Global Seabed Authority and hand a big chunk of our sovereignty over the the UN, it will never come back.

Here is the problem with limiting our discussions within the parameters of candidates “allowed to define themselves before we pass judgment”. Mitt Romney claims to be pro-life now and a lifelong member of the NRA. Huckabee claims to be a tax slasher and anti-amnesty guy. Newt claims he wants to get rid of the EPA. And Perry says he’s for strict border enforcement. Do you see the glaring problem with allowing folks to erase their past, their working years in gov’t, their past campaign statements that infuriated conservatives and whose advocacy caused great damage?

Palin cannot be the first candidate in GOP history allowed to redefine herself for a campaign.

As for emotional, I say nonsense. It’s just the hard facts I present. the emotion comes from those who want run interference for Palin’s statements and policies.

Pissant, I call them as I see them. I believe that many of the arguments you present are emotional, as opposed to logical.

You do raise some good points for discussion, though.

I would caution you that some of the positions that are ascribed to Palin are vestiges from a campaign in which she was not allowed to speak her own agenda. For me, I openly opined that McCain was not conservative enough to fit my agenda. She, as the second banana pick, could not be allowed to stray from the McCain line. Any speech or video of her from that era is colored by that reality.

Speech before that time, or significantly afterward (boy is “significant” a loaded term) is fair game.

In the end, I believe that Palin, Bachmann, and any other conservatives interested in the brass ring need to personally present their cases to the voters.

And to allow the media to “Quayle” any conservative is to allow the democrats to pick our candidate.

I’m about to hit the hay - it’s late. I may not respond further on this thread.

But please consider that, if your honest intent is to convince conservative voters to look beyond Palin as a candidate, you have failed in your choice of arguments (at least from my perspective). Conservatives do not respond well to “Quayling” candidates, where the enemedia is allowed to define who and what we are.

Have a good evening.
