AND....they finally got to the chapter in “Teach yourself HTML in a day” where they talk about padding. At least now the site is readable. Not the content....the format.

I don’t normally post anything from them knowing how it puts some on here off they’re bubble. This article seemed relevant and probably true. At least it seems to have stimulated some interesting debate.

It WOULD be a perfect opportunity for another country to come to the aid of Egypt (e.g. Russia, China). In the process we lose and ally and gain an enemy much like Iraq before we invaded.

Nope. Never said the checks had to keep going there. (or anywhere for that matter)

No. It clouds the matters at hand, and hurts the credibility of conservatives and this site to post this crap.

Let’s go at this another way:

Do you think Obama is issuing direct orders to the Egyptian military to depose the lawful president of their country?

No?

Then the headline is an outright lie and the article should be zotted.

Many of us come here during crisis periods to get good solid information, which FReepers are noted for providing. This deceptive claptrap detracts from that valuable function.

more or less, yes. what we give egypt is peanuts compared to what congress is spending now, and it has bought 30 years of good (probably very good, in some areas) behavior by egypt.

supporting secular dictators is pretty much the only way to keep islamists out of power in the middle east, it seems.

Either way, Egypt gets the money. They charge a tariff on every one of the 3 million barrels of oil transiting the Suez daily, most of it heading for our shores. If they upped the tariff by two dollars per barrel, it would surpass the aid amount.

I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.

I wouldn't put it past Obaman to secretly meet with the MBH in order to arrange the overthrow of Mubarak as has been reported elsewhere. Obama pressuring elements within the Egyptian military to remove Mubarak is an easy step to make.

To my knowledge, Debka isn't a prohibited site. If I am mistaken then by all means remove the DAMN thread.

The Resident Narcissist is in for a rude awakening.
I would love to be a fly on the wall in the VP’s office after the smarta** US Prez tried to tell these harden pols what to do.

It may get much worse for the protesters if Zero doesn’t keep his mouth shut.

I’m just concerned about Israel should a democratic Egyptian government turn out to be made up of radicalized Muslims. We need to defend Israel at all costs if our upsetting the balance there leads to an Egyptian gov’t that decides to dump its alliance with the Israelis.

Hate to say it but I think we’d be better off with Mubarek in there. Most Muslim countries just aren’t ready for democracy. When you’re stuck in the eleventh century, culturally and socially, twenty-first century governments might not really be the answer.

Ok let me get this straight it took Obama and his pals almost a year to come up with a military strategy for Afghanistan but it only took him less than 2 weeks to come up with a military solution for the Egyptian army?

As we found out in Iran.

What gets me about this is that Zero has the audcity to think HE can tell Egypt what to do.

He really does think he is the head of the World.

Think about it, The U.S is 1) suffering from bone crushing unemployment. 2) Us wages are going down. (people taking low-paying jobs. 3) Inflation some say actually 10% 4)Elites, Wall Street,Banks, giant corps taking taxpayer money
4)Citizens Rights being violated with impunity.
5)States being strong armed to accept onerous regulations.

From what I can seethe ONLY experience Zero has is 6 months in a Muslim school in Thailand. Visits to his
abusive alcoholic Communist Father in Kenya.
None of which give him ANY experience dealing with World leaders that have survived in a cutthroat society in the ME.

His arrogance is breathtaking and DANGEROUS.

The unofficial scuttlebut was that JFK agreed to the assasination.

This type of meddling is very dangerous, to Americans.
