That right there represents over one-third of those voting against repeal. If these Senators had instead voted in line with the positions of their respective States, the vote for repeal would have been 65-33.
Correct. And a good reason for repeal of the 17th amendment. I hope people will start the process of repealing some of the amendments that have been messing up the country. Also adding a few new ones to stop this from ever happening again. Maybe we could get back to being a Representative Republic. All of these Senators should be replaced in the next election. I wonder if a State could enact legislation where the state house could recall a rouge Senator?
I wholeheartedly agree that the 17th Amendment should be repealed. And this provides a textbook case as to why.
I wonder why it was passed in the first place?
I see what you’re saying, but...We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
Again, the repeal of the 17th Amendment is as likely as Oprah Winfrey apologizing to America for Obama.
The 16,000 IRS agents were to make sure that Americans got health care. Nothing really to do with the $600.00 provision. They are the keepers of the health care.
But still, if Obama follows the law, he can not hire them because of the recent court ruling. It stops Obamacare until it is heard by the USSC. everything is supposed to stop. But that didn’t happen with the courts drilling memorandum see:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-03/u-s-administration-in-contempt-over-gulf-drill-ban-judge-rules.html
Congress can still not fund the positions of the IRS agents though.
It has been ruled unconstitutional as a whole in one court.
Only the individual mandate has been ruled unconstitutional in another court.
two courts upheld Obamacare.
So it is still up in the air as far as the courts go. It will have to be heard by the USSC and god only knows what way the wind blows that day when they hear it.
let it continue by congress and republicans to say what we want. End Obamacare every way that we can. Congress, court public opinion.
