"A controversy is brewing at San Franciscos City Hall over one of the newest members of the Board of Supervisors who refuses to recite the pledge of allegiance.
District Six Supervisor Jane Kim rises with her fellow supervisors for the Pledge of Allegiance at each session of the Board of Supervisors, but she does not recite the pledge and has not done so since taking office last month, Fox KTVU reports.
Kim said that she believes it is a personal decision of how to honor the flag and country and has been surprised by the criticism.
"I don't think our flag represents a nation where there's liberty and justice for all," argued Kim.

Really nice image your project there of immigrants and Asians Jane. Yet your fellow SFans try to silence Rush over meaningless things.
Laughable, her campaign site says she is a “public servant for ALL of SF” Oh, but liberty and justice isn’t for “All” in your book, Jane, but somehow you can represent ALL of SF?
How about the patriotic ones? Nice way to “represent” them. Shame on you, little childish little attention-whore.
“Jane’s family immigrated to the United States in the early 1970’”
You’d be alot happier in North Korea, Jane. Do us all a favor and emigrate there. Fellow Kim would love to use you as a propaganda tool. Ingrate bitch.
San Fran smells like China in a lot of places. Urine with a slight fishy smell.
More proof of American Suicide by Stupidity. Why can’t we run these leftists out of our country.
Even if we had to pay the ChiComs to take it, it'll be worth the investment. Throw in Berkeley, Oakland and L.A., too.
Asian females make the nastiest liberals.
But, don’t dare say she’s not patriotic.
California makes it’s own bed, let them lie in it...
Jane Kim is Korean. She may have benefited from her heritage. She is a graduate of Stanford and perhaps attended at no cost to her on a scholarship that was made possible by affirmative action. You know. The politically correct “ racial diversity” is the most important thing school of thought.
Liberty and justice is not available to everyone. Some people are more equal than others and she may be one of them.
We might even get some wonton soup if we throw in Governor Moon Beam.
She’s more than welcome to leave.
I’m sick and tired of little pricks and b*tches like this; taking public jobs just to stick it in the eye of the public.
Like the little wench didn’t know what she was getting into. Fire her pathetic little ass.
Her website (janekim.org) says she came to the US during the 1970s when her family immigrated. And that she is the President of the San Francisco Board of Education, a former community organizer and a civil rights attorney at Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and a graduate of Berkley school of Law.
Connecting the obvious dots, she's a red-scarfed Commie anti-American who little appreciates either America saving South Koreans from the fate of their northern countrymen or the opportunities America granted her and her family by allowing them to come here.
Did not her naturalization to a US Citizen require her oath of allegiance to this country and its flag?
American should always keep her ilk in mind when deciding Immigration and Citizenship policies.
LOL!
The country. Sometimes the country is good and sometimes it is bad.
In other news from San Francisco, water is wet.
If she thinks there's anywhere on earth which better represents liberty and justice than the US, she should go there and take the rest of the San Francisco rabble with her.
Not even close.
That reminds me of George Orwell’s Animal Farm:
“Some animals are more equal than others.”
