White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says President Barack Obama's delivered a "frank" directive to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak yesterday that he must begin the transition to a new government now.

"The message that the president delivered clearly to President Mubarak was that the time for change had come," Gibbs said in the daily White House briefing.

We want to hear it from the sock puppet himself. Not from the sock puppet’s sock puppet.

More proof that this administration is more interested in a political outcome than preventing violence.

Mubarak should blow him off. Ordered transition is a much better idea.

‘...says President Barack Obama’s delivered a “frank” directive to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak yesterday...’

Whatever happened to the nonintervention line this administration was spewing not too long ago? Then again who is Jug Ears to ‘deliver directives’ frank or not to other world leaders? What a putz!

In noting the impact last night's demands for change "NOW" had on the rioting in Egypt today, it is abundantly clear that the Obama administration doesn't care one iota for the safety of the people of Egypt, and is doing its best to increase the intensity level of the protests. Disgusting.

Obama is pulling a Carter, pure and simple. Keep in mind Obama is sympathetic to anti American and anti Israel elements, and he is withrawing us from the region fast as he can.

The radicals are eating his lunch and he loves it.

the time for change had come

I hope the change Obama is pushing for Egypt won't be as destructive for them as the change he foisted on America, if they are dumb enough to listen to an intellectually challenged foreigner's advice.

So, Barry’s close friend/mentor Bill Ayers goes to Egypt, gives instructions on how to implement domestic terrorism, then Barry instructs the President of Egypt that he has to leave immediately because of the will of the Egyptian people.. Barry and Bill, no longer satisfied with screwing up the U.S., now feel qualified to fool around in Egypt.

I dunno about anyone else here, but I'd much prefer to see this happening in our Dear Leader's own capital.

Perhaps then, he could ignore calls from the Chinese and Russian Premiers, et al, to 'begin an orderly transition of government - immediately'.

This is just the precursor to terminating U.S. military aid to Egypt until Mubarak steps down. You can feel the entire relationship shift between our two countries on the fulcrum the Obama administration is bringing to bear.

The rhetoric out of the White House is, diplomatically speaking, hostile. This latest announcement may as well have ended with 'or else'. But it didn't need to. It's clear enough what's happening. Obama saw the bus speeding down the street, and now he's giving Mubarak a push.
