Fewer massive wars like WWII helped raise life expectancy. And curing a bunch of diseases.
A year or so ago I looked at life expectancy. It went up a lot from about 1930 to 1965, then has gone up a little bit.
The actuarial tables show that life expectancy went up 5 years in the period 1940-1950.
It also increast by 5 years during the period 1910-1920.
Both of those periods included the bloodiest wars in history.
Facts, not opinion.
I forgot to add that most 10 year periods showed an increase of one to three years with most showing less than 3.
So wars had nothing at all to do with it other than during most wars we make greater strides in medicine.
Life expectancy has gone up about 9 years since 1960, from about 70 to about 79.
