USDA deregulates GE alfalfa; opens door to new era of widespread genetic pollution of crops

Under these programs, the USDA uses chemical poisons to murder literally millions of birds each year, including an occasional endangered species animal by accident. This is all part of the USDA's insane program of death to protect the financial interests of conventional agriculture giants.

I agree grocery store food generally tastes worse, but that has little to do with GMO. Plants have been selected for commerce over flavor for a long time with unfortunate results. Also, when you ship fruit from Chile and China, you probably aren't picking it ripe.

Have you tried a local farmer's market? You can get fruit with real flavor that you'd never find in a grocery store. I think it is worth the time and premium price...

The following link is very specific as well as informative. It is written by a lawyer who states that NONE of the charges (against Wakefield) stand up under close scrutiny.

If you are open minded, you will take the time to examine the evidence and then ask, who would benefit most from trying to discredit this man and WHY would they be threatened by verification and investigation of the circumstances surrounding autism and vaccines???

"High yields of poisonous crops are of no value to real people."

They are good for zombies, and for the entities that will control the few remaining crop strains (and therefore will control the zombies).

You think if we cross more pig genes with tomatoes, we could shop for less items for a nice BLT sandwich?

I’m not an expert on this, but nutrients in the soil seem to have an effect on flavor - brix? perhaps.

Monsanto had to go to the Supreme Court to get long standing law changed to allow seeds to be patented, which goes against the grain (so to speak) of what our founding fathers knew better, that is, not to allow a patent on food sources.

Once that decision to patent seeds was won the rest is history as shown in court documents. Monsanto runs to the courts all the time now to conduct business in their favor, a monopoly aided by the court system (worldwide).

Aside: The government admitted killing birds by poisoning to prevent contamination by nuisance over bird populations and their droppings onto feed grain used for livestock/farms. Read a one paragraph like footnote weeks after the mass die-offs. So much for headline news reporting.

As to vaccinations, obviously children do not have fully developed bodies to deal with what are essentially poisons being introduced into their little systems. I’ve lost track of how many types of ‘do good’ drugs are used on a newborn before they even leave a hospital let alone before the age of 10 (don’t forget those booster shots), all courtesy of Congress via lobbyist. {Most shots can be waived if so inclined, it’s the only out Congress grants (and States) to pass drug laws due to a unexplained percentage of deaths and side-affects}

On this thread? Are there anti-tractor people here on this thread?

But farming practices should be changed. Look at the real world consequences of banning GMO, to start. If potatoes are 39 cents a pound or 59 cents a pound, that’s fine.

Technological break-thrus such as this always alarm the simple.
*************************************************

I suppose that’s true for me, as I’m certainly ‘simple’ and I lack in education but I don’t lack in questions or the ability to reason.

The breakthroughs don’t bother or alarm me at all, I celebrate them. I don’t fear eating these products, either.

I am also not of the opinion Pitt-Bulls need to be banned but that doesn’t mean I don’t become madder than a hornet, when people fail to properly control or pen their beloved pet.

I think it ridiculous when a company can’t control their product but decides to sue others over their failure.

That’s about the offender controlling others. I love business and the free market but that’s bullcrap. That’s abuse of law...

Nature is nature and there is an issue that needs to be straightened out about GE crops, companies and our future—if we are to continue this path.

I suppose if your dog gets out, digs into my yard and impregnates my dog, you can sue me for all the puppies and then some, I lose my house trying to defend.

I try and argue but...but...but...*your* dog dug into my yard, you didn’t control yours, you let it run wild. Your argument? You spent years and years breeding this perfect dog and soooo much money, you have papers, I don’t.

Besides, I should have spayed my dog......hmmmmm.... ;)

If Monsanto can do this—then that STUPID, RETARDED, lawsuit over Katrina and globull warming should fly, those people should have a case against Oil Companies. *rolls eyes*

We have a problem, Houston... (gist of my gripe)

You can say that from behind a keyboard, but if you were to go out into the field, you would easily find indisputable evidence that crop yields are higher (for corn its’ about 40% over that last 10 years), better quality (More protein, more starch, etc. your choice) and more consistant (both in yields and the type of product).

The evidence is indisputable, talk to any farmer who grows food for a living.

Perhaps you’re saying gov’t needs to get their nose out of farmers butt? I agree, no more subsidies and dictating yields!

Ahem...I’ve been known to moo before and after a really awesome steak. :p

Perhaps even break out a bib, fork and knife— when I’ve seen a sexy lookin’ calf in the field.

Ringy-dingy PETA.... I don’t care, just give me my darn steak!

I *think* that may be one I watched on NETFLIX—it twisted to the Left but I still found it worth-while and it drives me to want to learn more about the subject.

There was another I watched..King Corn? Korn? Something like that...

A couple of college kids, probably global warming worshipers—but no matter the bent, it did give information that informed or at the very least opened the eyes.

What did you think of the doc?

Yep and as I understand it, Monsanto has used our USA seed bank to just about ‘rape’ the stock,

Here’s another story... (India) They’re in need of cheap food, one would think they would *adore* Monsanto, eh?

Yep, one time use seeds meaning if the farmer cannot purchase seeds the next growing season they are in a bad way as they have no seed in reserve to grow a crop the next season.

So a flood, a drought, what have you, and the farmer is wiped out.

The pro Genetically Altered supporters will not touch nor respond to the extortion they have been engaged in, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil...

If anything the farmers whose crops are infected with GE’s pollen should sue for negligence on behalf of the “owners” of those products, they abandoned their property on someone else’s land and it caused damages.

If you look at the history of food, you can see the amazing effects of thousands of years of human genetic manipulation. Any fruit you see today in the store is the product of selective breeding and cross breeding for size, flavor etc...
For that matter, look at dogs, an entire sub-species created by human manipulation.

Just an observation. The genetic manipulation was slower and not concentrated like it is today. There were many failures in the breeding process but we ended up with more breeds. A failure or unintended consequence today has much more impact. It is hard to find many breeds of cattle and hogs today. Dogs not a problem finding different breeds.

Problems must be defined well. It is not a gmo vs non gmo. It is a centralization vs decentralization problem. Our crops have mostly the same genetic base. The good news is that in good growing weather we have abundance, and in bad we will have a disaster.

For govt, I want 50 strong different state governments, not one strong federal govt or worse yet, world government. Are 50 state government perfect, no. They will still make bad decisions, but they don't affect everyone, only the ones in that state.

What is the problem with centralization? They make general decision which on average are a good idea but don't work with individual situations.

The food may look better, but it tastes worse. I haven’t had an ear of corn that tasted like corn in nearly 20 years. They are syrupy sweet, like canned cream corn of the 1960’s. Tomatoes have no body, all liquid without flavor. Apples last longer, look better but have more meat than juice.

Anecdotal story: I worked with a farmer who sold a qtr beef to a guy in town. The town guy complained about the beef every time they saw each other. The next year the guy wanted to buy another qtr but my farmer wouldn't sell it to him because all he did was complain. Finally the farmer asked why he wanted it and the town guy said, “It just took us awhile to learn what good food tastes like.”

So, what is quality? It is a variety of things. Organic is not the secret. You should see the sick organic chickens delivered for butchering, I wouldn’t want one.

I would have preferred the ISO 9000 model in agriculture rather than the centralized “organic” route.

P.S. You may be getting older and your tastebuds are not what they used to be.

You just don’t get it, do you!

High yields of poisonous crops are of no value to real people.

More unnatural protein is of no value, since it is not food.

I get it OK. Some simple evidence showing that you don't know what you are talking about is that people are living longer and healthier than ever before. People spend less money (time spent 'gathering') food than ever before.

You're free to believe whatever Leftist tripe you want to, but, as with all Leftist 'facts', the real-world evidence easily refutes everything you've posted here.

Including the autisum nonsense. You did read that the author of all that autisum-vaccine evidence has just admitted he made it all up, haven't you? Or, do you think he's lying now?
