Great. Have they resumed drilling in the previously banned areas yet? Gas is getting higher and higher.

I doubt I would eat any seafood from those waters. There’s just no real way of knowing whether it’s safe to eat.

I don’t trust the government to give us good or honest information at all...

The Obama Administration will say (have said) with a straight face that they have opened drilling back up. The reality is that they have created administrative/regulatory blocks such that for all practical purposes drilling is still banned in the Gulf.

My B.S. meter is twitching.

Not one well in deepwater has received any permits from the government to resume drilling.

It’s a permitorium.

Do Gulf shrimp on the Barbie give off bluish-black smoke, and periodically backfire?

I’d rather eat them than farm raised Thai crap. But I tend to think there is some nasty stuff laying on the bottom as a result of the spill. I’m even backing off Apalachicola oysters for a while. Giving my liver a break..

I believe rock shrimp and royal red are ‘deep water’... and fairly limited. Your B.S. meter seems to be working well...

Most likely they are talking about an area that was opened then closed when some shrimpers targeting royal red shrimp returned to to the docks after one drag with nets fouled with oil. The royal red are a deep water shrimp.

I’d rather eat gulf shrimp full of oil than Asian shrimp full of human poop!

If the past is an indication next year will be a bumper harvest of shrimp.

It’s a silent killer.

Independent tests tell anyone who is planning on living longer than ten more years, to back off from the gulf seafood for a while. Some of it is heavily dosed with cancer causing chemicals. You don’t know what came from where.

Yup, the kids too; we do so dearly love to us some shrimps.

Anyway, like I was saying, shrimp is the fruit of the sea.
You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it.
There’s shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried.
There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich.
That’s about it.
