The Egyptian people are reentering history. The masses have awakened, swarming in the streets against autocracy, chanting “Yes we can!” It’s too bad they hate America.In June 2009, President Obama launched his much heralded outreach effort to the Muslim people with a speech in Cairo. Frankly, if we did that in America we'd be seeing more handless people than one could imagine. Between white collar theft and punk style theft, we'd have to create a one-handed NFL, a one-handed L.A. Police Force, a one-handed Congress, and a one-handed Lawyer's Association.

What I'd maybe agree on is a law that creates one-handed doctors who have performed abortions.

All these people around the world that hate us spend quite a bit time and effort trying to be like us nevertheless. They covet our popular culture, flock to Facebook, wear American T shirts and sneakers, drink Coca Cola, and go home to watch their own stupid knockoffs of our own stupid sitcoms. And while I’m at it, I wouldn’t doubt that there are even a few Elvis imitators in Cairo.

Does it really make any difference what system of government a muslim mideast nation adopts? Democracy, dicatatorship, sharia, plutocracy, communism, socialism. The end result will always be the same with them broke and hating the West. The system of government is not why this is a region of losers. It is the Islamic mindset that will always maintain this region as global cultural and economic losers.They deserve their fate and the West should not lift a finger to help them. A little benign neglect is in order.
