Welcome to the new reality of cold, hard choices in Egypt, and the consequences of democracy in regions where radicalism thrives. In order to stay ahead of the crisis in Egypt, the Obama administration yesterday signaled that it supports the participation of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egyptian politics as long as they renounce violence and commit to democracy:
The Obama administration said for the first time that it supports a role for groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, a banned Islamist organization, in a reformed Egyptian government.
The organization must reject violence and recognize democratic goals if the U.S. is to be comfortable with it taking part in the government, the White House said. But by even setting conditions for the involvement of such nonsecular groups, the administration took a surprise step in the midst of the crisis that has enveloped Egypt for the last week.

“unexpectedly”
Muslim Brotherhood's campaign contribution will be accepted either directly or via their nearest Soros Group subsidiary.
Egypt Gate, something else for the House to investigate.
His actions and background point to Sunni, not Shia.
Exactly so. The stories about US support quietly given to the opposition in Egypt, the pattern of the riots—it does add up. If anyone had doubts before, this should settle all of those.
He thinks the tea party is dangerous and incites violence but the Muslim brotherhood isn’t and doesn’t. Right. Got it.
Looks like Obama and Mitt Romney are in complete agreement. Cut and run and leave the Middle East to the Muslim Brotherhood.
I’d like to hear how he feels about the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States........from his own mouth. Throw it out on the table and demand an answer. The Middle East is going to fall into the hands of these idiots and Israel will be fighting our own tanks that are being manufactured in Egypt. Supposedly, there are over 1000 of our tanks under Egypt’s control right now.
There is such a wicked spirit behind all of this. There is no other explanation for it. Otherwise it doesn’t make any sense at all. The world is steadily slipping towards a major confrontation with Israel. All accurately prophesied in the Bible. God is not thwarted, unchanged or unmoved. His word is truth. Even Obama is complicit.
This should be the top story. The MB is going to make the Taliban look like a kindergarten class.
The man is evil.
My son has been saying from day one he thinks Obama is an islamist terrorist. I’m beginning to believe it myself.
I’m hearing on the radio today that some school system is letting Muslim kids carry their “sacred daggers” to school.
Do not underestimate for a second the utter lunacy of the leftist mindset. I’m sure Obama considers it only natural that a radical, America hating group take over. I’m also not surprised if he sees their eventual elimination of Israel as a good thing.
I wouldn’t expect Hussein the muslim to do anything else.
It's in Michigan, and the kids are Sikhs, not muslims. But just the same... a kid can be suspended for so harmless an offense as pointing a finger or drawing a pic of a handgun.
Amazing.
... as long as they commit to democracy.
They call for freedom, rights and democracy.... creatures of the English intellect and heritage. Flipping parrots. What do they know of the evolution to get to the Magna Carta let alone events after that? They have been stuck in the 7th century.... how can they commit to such a lofty construct?
Monkeys and parrots....
Right, can’t have religion or weapons in school, but if you look different for the sake of “diversity” you can have both.
And just like kids never needed to have daggers in school, we never needed to have radicals take over Egypt. But to a liberal, it’s only natural.
“Why did you take a chunk out of my ass? I trusted you!”
“You knew I was a snake when you picked me up and carried me across the river. It’s just my nature, you know.”
