Why should they risk anything? The media lapdogs are perfectly happy to do the nastiness, while Rove, Perino and Krauthammer join in.
You’re right, but they need an audience and the SNL/Jon Stewart crowd doesn’t cut it. The problem with appealing to the lowest common denominator is that they often don’t participate politically (voting or giving).
