I guess Senator Chuck Schumer didnt take civics very serious while in school. On CNN over the weekend, Chuck Schumer boldly or stupidly declared his own version of the three branches of government to be the House, the Senate, and the President? Just imagine if Sarah Palin had said this; it would be on continuous rotation on the main stream media.

Now just in case you didnt quite catch what Schumer said, heres the transcript (via Hot Air):
"So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strong they feel you know, we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President, and all three of us are going to have to come together and give some. But it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling."
Its understandable now why Democrats can pass legislation like the health care law and call it constitutional-most Democrat legislators dont know the constitution. Would someone please give Senator Schumer a civics textbook please!

Lately it seems that this clown(Schumer) is being more frequently cited as newsworthy. On the otherhand maybe it is my imagination???? I think that's the case too. He just seems to like to hear himself talk - and that provides lots of soundbites for the mainstream media. He's the senior senator from NY and definitely a Democratic Party... there's a Yiddish word here in New York...macher. He likes to think of himself as a mover and shaker, boss of bosses, lots of connections - another NY term: he's got juice.

Chucky should have read his Constitution before taking the Oath.
Oh wait... he'll have to find out what's in it.

Thanks for the response. At least I’m not alone in my impression. (However, we could both be nuts!)

Hissy Chrissy is a moron...and he has the childish nerve to call Sarah Palin anything but smarter than he is.

...we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President... And the "news" media massacred Quayle for misspelling a tuber.
Schumer is always so imperious and condescending. Even if her were on our side, he would still creep me out.

The Supremes should step out of their gowns and start kicking some demo-butt. They don’t get no respect from them. No respect at all.

My aunt and uncle travel in the same social circles as he does, or they did at least - not sure anymore, so they'd end up at the same parties... at which he would bring up getting a 1600 on his SAT's. What kind of a grown man harps on, unprompted, about what he scored on college admission tests when he was 17 or 18? A self-important, mouthy one?

Someone who hasn't done anything worthwhile since then.

To be fair, Sarah Palin had her slip of the tongue moment when she called "North" Korea our allies when talking to Glenn Beck.
That's not being fair. Just moments before she had identified South Korea as our ally in our relationship against the threat of North Korea quickly acknowledged and corrected within one or two sentences. So it was a slip of the tongue. This is quite different from Schumer's fundamental error of basic civic knowledge.

There's a big difference between a slip-of-the-tongue...
And incurable abject stupidity....
Ol' Chuck-for-Brains... strikes again!

OH but chuckie is a SENATOR while Palin was just a governor of a state.
Putz couldn’t run the administration of a dog pound and yet he has the you know what’s to run down someone who actually governed. Educated way beyond his intelligence.

Why mention private citizen, Sarah Palin, in defense of the sitting senator know-it-all?

I spent 13 years (that’s right, 13-got left back) in the NYC public education system, and I ended up on this website. I have my dad to thank for that, though.
The other students and very few teachers made the time worthwhile, though. Other than that, I haven’t retained much of what I learned. 6 1/2 years of Spanish? All down the drain.

That there are Americans that don’t know the three branches of our government is disheartening... but a Senator?
Disgraceful!
