If Reagan were President they wouldn’t have the nerve to do this. I chuckled when I read that about Food Insurance but it was a panic laugh.

Maybe we need to stop being hypocrites. We climb in bed with every dictator that comes along and then complain when we get a rash. If we are for democracy, that is what we need to support. Let oil do what it wants, it has anyway in the last few years regardless of what supply/demand is.

The U.S. has proven reserves of Natural Gas for 100 years, and estimated reserves of nearly 300 years.

We may have no choice but to go to Compressed Natural Gas powered vehicles, which is fine. Honda makes a CNG powered Civic that gets the equivalent of 40 MPG. Many city, state and utility vehicle fleets already run on CNG.

All Obama has to do is create an Executive Order requiring ALL Federal vehicles to be CNG powered. Since the Federales purchase the largest vehicle fleets, Ford, GM and Chrysler would have CNG vehicles available for the consumer. We can then tell the Middle East, Chavez, and the rest of the foreign producers to shove it.
