ST. PAUL - Last years Hail Mary fell incomplete as time ran out on the Minnesota Vikings and their push for a new stadium.
But the team may be granted an overtime period in the 2011 Minnesota Legislature.
Lawmakers insist that they will not finance a Vikings stadium from the general fund, fueled by state taxes, nor will they lose their primary focus on putting citizens back to work or balancing the budget.
However, there appears to be interest from Democrat and Republican lawmakers and Gov. Mark Dayton in discussing options that could result in the Vikings getting a new stadium.

Welfare for billionaires.
They are both losers and pi$$ everyone off anyway.
I could just go out into the woods and cut a couple spruce poles to help hold the roof up. Maybe that would tide them over another year.

This is how you know times can’t really be that tough. All is well.
Fix the Metrodome roof and problem solved. There is nothing wrong with a dual use domed stadium. Seattle stupidly built 2 stadiums to replace the Kingdome. It may not have been “pretty” but it got the job done and the taxpayers weren’t fleeced. I like Safeco field, but what a waste Qwest field is.
With no Lombardi trophies they’ll be able to save money on selving and display space.
From what I heard on KSTP, it sounds like the 400 acre ammo plant property in the northeast metro will become the new home of the Vikes.
I hope it’s an outdoor stadium, but of course, they probably figure they need a dome to get the Super Bowl.
Spoken like a true baseball fan. They are both fine facilities, and have been paid for with taxes from new sources......PS, I voted against them both, and I love sports.....hate govt spending more.
Great, close to where I live (close enough to be a major inconvenience. That won’t make the 7.25% sales tax jump here at all. Infrastructure in this area can’t handle it. About the only good that would come from it might be getting some better restaurants near here.
By my house...that should help traffic.grrrrrr.
Heck, sell the team to Cuba or Venezuela. Castro or Chavez would like their own NFL football team and it’s warm there for the players.
