Before we get all indignant, remember that the Old Testement calls for stoning as a punishment for a number of offenses.And over time, religions will repeal many of the "old ways." Sort of like how Judaism stopped live animal sacrifices after the destruction of the Holy Temple.
The question is, will islam "mature" as have nearly every other major religion before they destroy western civilization, and plunge the world back into barbarism.

No, the death sentence proscribed in the Old Testament was never repealed. The wages of sin is still death.
Which makes Jesus’ substitutionary sacrifice all the more precious.
