A celebrity journalist now claims he misspoke when he said last week that Hawaiis governor told him he was unable to find President Barack Obamas original birth certificate after a search of state and hospital archives.
Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obamas birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie.
Evans, who says he has been a close friend of Abercrombie since the 1980s, appeared on Minnesotas KQRS radio last week and said hed been told by the governor himself that Obamas birth certificate was nowhere to be found. Evans told KQRS on Jan. 20:
"Yesterday, talking to Neil's office, Neil says that he searched everywhere using his powers as governor ..... there is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii. Absolutely no proof at all that he was born in Hawaii."
But thats no longer Evans story.
Only this I can you tell you is 100 percent fact: that Neil never told me there was no birth certificate, Evans told Fox News. I never talked to him.

I see the Obots are out in full force on that You tube video. They have their talking points down pat and are going at it hot and heavy to do damage control.
They’ll even claim Hitlers son is eligible, if berfed on US soil.
Don’t leave me out of pinging!
I’m obsessed and have given up trying to pretend I’m not.
Have you seen this guy’s comments?
Highly interesting, here’s one, check ‘em out:

This time Mike Evans specifically says “Yesterday I talked to Neil....And he said--Mike...
We should all send this to Drudge World Net Daily and Peter Broyles at KHOW!!
Mike Evans affiliate links: http://www.evansradio.com/ern.html
Unfortunately most of his affiliates are music stations and of the ones I checked don't podcast.
What do you mean by that?
Accidentally. Now, haven’t we heard this before: “I misspoke” ???
Listening to the interview Mike Evans was passionately/excitedly reporting that “and Neil says”. Evans was delivering sensational news that he believed he was breaking to the world.
Not it was a mistake???
He played the audio from the podcast linked above AND yet another.
So there is the original which he backtracked on to Fox News. BUT at least TWO recordings of him clearly saying YESTERDAY, I SPOKE TO NEIL.
For those interested Peter Boyles direct link to podcasts of his past shows:
http://www.khow.com/cc-common/podcast/single_podcast.html?podcast=fullshow_boyles.xml
3 recordings now! per Boyles
Got it! Thanks for the link, Kev.
After hearing all of this over the last several days, I suspect this celebrity journalist Mike Evans truly is a friend of the HI Gov. and actually did speak directly to the HI Gov. last week about obozos BC.
I think after he did his radio revelations he was contacted threatened and told to recant or else.
I'm looking for post #7, ... yours???
Didn’t Rush, when he first touched on hippie Abercommie in his opening monologue last week, alluded the whole thing as a kind of set-up or misleading issue???
Yes, Evans can walk it back all he wants. Unfortunately for him, the guv and Team Obama there are those recordings you mention. It’s out there, and the issue isn’t going away anytime soon.
