"VIRGINIA"
There was a time...
A time of splendor and grace
When the world moved by
At a kinder pace
There was a land...
A land to pleasure the eyes
Where the old was new
And the foolish wise
I can hear Virginia
When the south wind sings
And I see her shining
On a blackbird's silver wings
And I can feel Virginia
Runnin; through my soul
When the flag unfurls
And drummers start their long, long roll
Oh, sacred ground
For which so many have died
Let us take our turn
For our country's pride
Oh, blessed place
Remember all of your sons
Who will stand and fall
'Neath the ceaseless guns
I can hear Virginia
When the south wind sings
And I see her shining
On a blackbird's silver wings
And I can feel Virginia
Runnin' through my soul
When the flag unfurls
And drummers start their long, long roll
Will I ever see her rise again?
Or are the old days gone, has the world moved on?
Will she ever grace our eyes again?
Tell me when?
I can hear Virginia
When the south wind sings
And I see her shining
On a blackbird's silver wings
And I can feel Virginia
Runnin' through my soul
When the flag unfurls
And drummers start their long, long roll.

Awesome. It is about time a state took on Wickard v. Filburn with legislation.

On the flip side, if California passes a similar law, could they place a ban on products made in VA "just because"?
Or, if California passed a similar law, could they purposely and willfully infringe on the trademarks, copyrights, and patents of VA based companies (which are protected by Federal Law) for resale globally, including VA?

Let's let Virginia and Texas form the FREE United States of America! Any other takers?

Hehehe...this would include, of course, any firearms made in, and exclusively sold in the state.

It’s going to be very interesting as these kinds of cases wind their way through the federal judiciary and eventually to the Supreme Court. Upholding a few of them would cause a seismic shift in the way Washington does things.

Lots of hooting and hollering, but what exactly does this piece of legislation actually do for the people of VA?

There is no language in the commerce clause that extends federal power to regulate “the people” as that critical term has been defined by other amendments and case law.

Don’t break out the champagne yet. This still has to get through our wretched state Senate.

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS
Sic semper tyrannis is a Latin phrase meaning "thus always to tyrants." It is sometimes mistranslated as "death to tyrants" or "down with the tyrant." The phrase is said to have originated with Marcus Junius Brutus during the assassination of Julius Caesar. It is the official motto of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Great idea, but we keep getting excited here about some bill that passes ONE CHAMBER of a state’s government, only to see it flounder and die in the other chamber. [Arizona for example]
Let us know when it is ready for the Gov’s signature

This has probably been mentioned already, but would that include firearms, ammunition and attachments? I’m just getting to this thread now.
