Study: Male Viewers Find Sexy News Anchors Distracting (In other news, water is wet)

Men watching a news broadcast are more likely to pay attention if a sexy anchor is delivering the day's stories. Just what they're captivated by, however, is another matter entirely.
According to a new study from researchers at Indiana University, male viewers snap to attention at the sight of a female anchor they find attractive, but are distracted by her looks and therefore less likely to remember what she had to say.
In other words? "Men might want to reread the story in the newspaper," Maria Elizabeth Rabe, one of the study's authors, told AOL News in a phone interview.

In other words? "Men might want to reread the story in the newspaper," Maria Elizabeth Rabe, one of the study's authors, told AOL News in a phone interview. Yep, poor men, unable to function fully if a stunningly beautiful woman wasn't discriminated against, and obtained the news reader position. Cheese whiz Maria, you paint with quite a wide brush there don't you.
Okay, beautiful women shouldn't be able to be news anchors.
Men should seek help if they want 'real' news.
Newspapers are the best way for men to get 'real' news.
Gag me.

I'm not sure if anyone can dig it up, but there was a study where they gave males IQ tests. During some of the tests they had an attractive woman in the room, and during others they didn't.
The IQ scores of the men went down when the attractive woman was in the room.
The theory was that men get so distracted by an attractive woman that they lose the ability to concentrate.

A sideways slam at FOX news. I submit anyone who doesn't hear the news because of a "sexy Anchor" person, is too young to watch the news anyway.
These ladies are eye-candy, for sure, but the question is are you watching the news, or "shopping"? None of these ladies are "available" for the asking. Most of us will never get any closer than the tv screen to them, and they wouldn't give us the time of day if we did.
Having said that, there is not a better interviewer out there than Megyn Kelly...she's no-nonsense and tells it like it is.
AOL is simply trying to slam women and "put them in their place" as sex objects instead of being taken seriously for the job they do. They are also implying that conservatives watch FOX just for the "girls". I wonder how the millions of women viewers of FOX take that statement?
One thing is for certain, they are NOT the reason I watch FOX news; if they were not there I would still watch FOX.
Just because the left is stuck with Randi Rhodes and Joy Behar there's no need for outward jealousy AOL.
