Marriott Hotels recently announced that it will be phasing out and no longer be offering pay-per-view adult videos in its worldwide hotels.
The change will affect nearly 600,000 rooms in the Marriott-brand hotels, which include Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, Renaissance Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott, as well as Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC and others.
The company said that the prevalence of phones, iPads and other devices has decreased the use and revenues from hotel-provided entertainment.
Yet others have also speculated that pulling the plug on pornography came at the request of potential 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who until a few weeks ago served on the Marriott board of directors of the company with an LDS background.

So they pull the plug AFTER Romney leaves the board of directors. And he gets credit?
He’s not getting his cut any more.
That & a cup of coffee should all that’s needed to get him elected, n’estpas?
huh... so Myth quits the Marriott board and after he quits they drop the porn and it’s because of his request when he’s no longer a director?
Good to see the Myth developing a conscience, I guess.
If they want to get rid of all porno they should block MSNBC too.
The company said that the prevalence of phones, iPads and other devices has decreased the use and revenues from hotel-provided entertainment.
I doubt that Romney had anything to do with it. Declining profits is clearly the motive.
That said, I’m glad they’ve stopped offering these channels. Most people who want them have some other device on which they can get them (their own laptop off the hotel’s wifi). But this way you don’t have to worry about kids getting onto these channels or, as once happened to me in a hotel, clicking around idly and suddenly coming on a truly gross scene offered as a “sample.”
With prices dropping like a rock, there's probably little demand for it as part of the video offerings at hotels anywhere in the "developed world" (meaning places with internet access.
Hotels are in business to make money first!
Sorry, Mitt.
No matter what you do, I am NEVER voting for you.
So, please do we conservatives a favor and go skuba diving.
Without the aqua lung.
There’s porn available in hotel rooms?!?!
Who knew?
They could charge a corkage fee.
Thank you Michael Savage! Savage has been attacking Marriot for over a year over this porn, and had stepped up his effort over the past month.
So why didn’t Mitt have it done while he was on the board of directors? Maybe he wanted the porn there, and when he left they could finally get rid of it.
The very conservative businessman stood at the Front Desk of the hotel. He was uncomfortable because the Hotel Clerk was a woman.
Finally, he said, “Before I go up to my room, I want to be sure that the porn channel is DISABLED.”
The Clerk snapped, “No, it’s just regular porn, you sick bastard!”
