My good brother Sickolibs, Rome fell because it was an Empire built on force, slavery and coercion.

We’re not.

Rome wasn’t about human liberty, freedom, and the right of the “little guy” to live his life as he pleases.

We are - and were founded that way from the start. And established ourselves in just fashion to be able to remove any threat to ourselves and our posterity, should the need arise.

“If we are mark’d to die, we are enough to do our country loss; and if to live, The fewer men, the greater share of honour...” Those are brilliant words, good brother, spoken by men who were looking at imminent extinction - and chose NOT to be the “guests of honor” at their own demise...

If there’s one thing we should do in our lives, it’s leave this country better than we inherited it - and our forebears, while not perfect, did a pretty damned fine job for us and left us a treasure.

I’ll not go lightly, nor quietly, nor easily. I’m an American. So are you. And every other joe out here who spends his/her days working and toiling and eaking out a living to make life a little better for his kids, busting his ass amd trading his/her years and sweat and minutes just to get a little piece of something decent, proper, and good that God set before us while we’re here in our temporary home.

We’re NOT made to wear the yoke they want to fashion, indeed have already fashioned, for us. We’re Americans, and there’s NEVER EVER been ANYTHING or ANYONE elese like us before on this Earth. We’re a quarrelsome, rambunctious, can-do, impatient, strong, vain, compassionate, generous, decent and virile people who NEVER let anything or anyone get the better of us. We’re a race of people who left other places and other times to begin anew HERE, in this land, in this place, and swore an oath to uphold, protect, and defend what our ancestors bled for.

That’s worth something. It’s worth MORE than any of us, any of our lives, and our pursuits - because if WE let it slip away, if WE let it go into the history books as just another failed experiment, and let THOSE bastards on the other side win without putting up THE mother of all battles, then we truly don’t deserve to call ourselves Men...nor Americans.

Why does a man die to pick up the flag from a fallen buddy, after that buddy has been shot through the head right in front of him? Because of pride; because of courage; because of duty, and honor, and loyalty. Because he KNOWS that at THAT moment, all eyes are on that little rag of color that symbolizes all the hopes and dreams of the people before him - look at Iwo Jima as an example. Every Marine on that island, every ship offshore LIT UP when that flag went up. And the Japs targeted those guys immediately.

Look at any Civil War or Revolutionary War battlefield. The Color Bearer was ALWAYS targeted.

Well, WE’RE the Color Bearers right now, in this generation, and this time.

Why? Because WE’RE here. Just us, and no one else.

And because we KNOW that those on the OTHER side, if set free and let unchecked, are going to rape, and pillage, and slaughter everything and everyone we know and love if we fail. How do we know that? They themselves have been telling us what they are going to do to us if they get the chance, for over a hundred years now.

I take the enemy at his word.

My father taught me the three virtues of a Man - Duty, Honor, Courage. He lived those virtues throughout his short, troubled, combative life. And I never forgot it.

This country is being stolen from us, piece by piece, by people hiding under the very protections set in place to ensure it’s continuance.

We talk, out here, about sheepdogs, about first responders, about rights, about everything under the sun - EXCEPT about “The Day”.

Well, “The Day” is already here - but not as we all thought. It didn’t come with massed 4am flashbang assaults or checkpoint body cavity searches (yet) - it came with legislation, and with calls for “civility”
and sly, sinister threats from perverted bureaucratic douchebags of questionable sexuality and low morals who couldn’t hold a job at a Burger Joint. People who hate just because they enjoy hating.

So we need to take that high ground back from them. The same way they took it. Failing that, it’s money-where-the-mouth is time.

Live Free or Die? We’ll see.

Molon Labe? We may just get the chance to prove the “courage of our convictions”.

I turned 50 this past week. I’m not a kid anymore. I lived my life, trying to make ends meet, raise my family, stay alive, trying to play by the rules, even when the bastards kept changing the rules and telling me to just shut up and suck on it. I wake up every morning, go outside, and see my American flag flying above my house - that’s MY flag. That’s OUR flag. And no leftwing liberal socialist traitor is EVER going to make me take it down or soil it. Too many good, decent, young men died for that flag. I owe them. We all owe them.

I’ll not spend the rest of whatever years I have left hiding from my responsibilty as a Citizen, as an American, and as a Man - we ALL have that responsibility.

If we truly want to believe we are Free Men, then we each must live and act like it.

Yeah, it’s bleak at the moment.

Well, I say “f*ck ‘em.”

It ain’t over brother. No way, no how. Not till WE say it’s over.

Look in the mirror.

Remember who you are - and remember who WE are.

We’re Americans.

Nothing’s impossible to a willing mind and a brave heart. And for well over three centuries, WE set the standard for brave hearts.
