If Obama was honest, he would start off the SOTU address like this:
“The state of the union is rotten, horrible, terrible and weak. I inherited a financial and economic mess when I took office and I have only made it worse by spending many many billions of taxpayer monies and I intend to spend even more over the next two years. Because I am the president. Because I am in charge. And if you don;t like it, you can all go **** yourselves. So there.”

The truth is he didn’t inherit and financial and economic mess when he took office. He was part of the mess created by the rats. There was nothing wrong with the economy when the Republicans wer in charge. The economy was thriving and unemployment was practically nonexistent
